Today I had my first “Lunch w/ the Girls.” TC was out taking care of Gabby, and I didn’t know what I wanted for lunch, so M was like “Are you going?” I didn’t have a present, and I told her so, and she’s like “That’s okay! Just go anyway!” … I have to have lunch, right?? Well, I had a stroke of genius and wrote up one of my leftover Christmas cards w/ an IOU for a hand-knitted item from ME
Whoever got it could pick a scarf or a hat or socks or a bag, and give me color suggestions & I’d knit them up something.
Lots of mixing it up, since we did White Elephant. My gift got picked last, of course.
Why do my presents always get picked last? Everyone knows (ok, maybe they don’t know) that I pick the best gift. Everyone wanted it, or at least acted like it, after they found out what it was, so what’s the deal? *lol* I ended up getting a copy of “How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days”, which I jacked from D cuz I didn’t want to pick my own present. I mean, I’m going to be knitting stuff for me all year. It was fun to get away for a little while & not have to worry about anything. I ended up being gone for 2 hrs, but I was with the AEs, so that’s okay, right? RIGHT? hehe
I called about my glasses, because my receipt said I was supposed to have them Monday (with the holidays, I expected a delay but wanted to call on them anyway).. she said they should’ve been shipped out tonight, and I should get ‘em tomorrow or Friday. I really, really hope they come in on Friday. I’d love to have them for Christmas. “All I want for Christmas is my eyesight back….”. lol.
Enough typing.. I have some last minute knitting to do .. trying to get the last present I HAVE to have done before Xmas knitted so I can felt/full it tomorrow night or Friday after work. I think I’ll wear my Santa hat tomorrow. No one’s really going to be there, it seems, so .. yeah.
If I don’t get to post before then, I hope those of you who celebrate Christmas have a Merry Christmas! And those of you who celebrate Hannakuh (sp?) have a happy Hannakuh (sp?) since it starts on the 25th. And those of you who celebrate Kwanzaa (I’m not sure when it is) have a Happy Kwanzaa! And happy Yule/Winter Solstice! (I think I got all of the holidays in.. *g*).
