I just finished reading Anne of Green Gables. Man, that was a great story. I’ve seen the movie countless times thanks to PBS pledging every weekend and showing it all the time when I was younger, but I’ve never read the book. Teresa gave me a copy of it for Christmas after finding out that I hadn’t read it. It took a while, but with all the knitting and crap I’ve been doing lately, I just haven’t been reading as much as I used to.
Anyway, it was a lovely story, and I have to admit I have a crush on Gilbert Blythe (as the movie version), and I’m sorry he wasn’t in the book more. That’s okay, there are many more books to go.
Next up on the reading list, however, is the newest installment of the “In Death” series by Nora Roberts as JD Robb. I just got it from the book club where I pre-ordered it, and I can’t wait to start it.
One of the things I want to start doing this year is an idea I jacked from Chris over at Rude Cactus (he also reviews books and cds at his new review site. He keeps track of all the books he’s read in a journal or notebook, and I’m going to start doing that, since this is my first finished book of the year. ![]()

If you haven’t already done so, you have to see the second Anne movie! It’s known as Anne of Avonlea or rather boringly as Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel. That’s the one with all the best Gilbert stuff.
I didn’t like the third movie (AKA The Continuing Story or some other lame title) at all. I’ve read most of the books too. I believe the third was my favorite. The end is really lovely and romantic.
