I’m surprised I’m still awake. This weekend has been SO LONG, but so much has happened. I can’t believe I’ve only been off two days. *heh*
My weekend, obviously, started Friday after work. Alex picked Teresa and I up from work, and we went to get Gabby at daycare. We dropped the two of them off at home, and Teresa and I made our way to the Relay for Life. Was pretty good… we walked more than anyone in our group. *lol*
We ended up crashing at her place so we could get some sleep before the hockey game.
Can I just tell you that I effing love playoff hockey????
And how sad I am that it took me until 1999 to realize how freaking great this sport is?!?!
Teresa’s Bossman got her tickets as a “Thanks for being an awesome assistant” present, and she was kind enough to take me, even though my team is like, one of her least favorite. (I think Dallas rates above Phoenix, but I could be wrong… ask her. hahah) Game one of the Western Conference QuarterFinals… Dallas Stars vs. Colorado Avalanche. HELL YEAH.
It was GREAT! Even though my team lost… but I figure I can give her that one game, y’know? I mean, HER boss bought HER the tickets, so HER team should win, right? As long as Dallas wins the rest.
What we’re HOPING is that my boss loves me enough to hook us up with like, let’s say… Game 7 tickets. *hahah*
(Yeah right, but two girls can dream, right?)
But yeah, it was SO freaking cool.
After the game ($&^#(*% 5-2 loss for Dallas. FIVE TO FREAKING TWO! What the hell is that?!), we hopped on the train and went back to get Alex and Gabby so we could go to Teresa’s belated birthday party. The original plan was to go see Edgewater, but then we ended up going out bowling. It was pretty fun. We bowled two games, and it took about 2.5 hrs. haha. Gabby got to play, and it took 5-10 minutes for the ball to get down to the end of the lane and think about knocking over some pins everytime it was her turn. It was so cute though. *lol*
At least we got our money’s worth, I guess. It’s expensive to go on the weekends. *lol*
After that, we all said our goodbyes. Teresa, Gabby & Alex ended up going home, and Stacy & Erik went home or went to do their own thing, and April, John, Dina and I ended up going to IHOP. It was pretty cool.
:)
I had a great time… I love my friends.
Today I didn’t do anything. I didn’t get any groceries, and I didn’t do any laundry, and I didn’t clean anything at all. I need to get boxes so I can start packing stuff up.
Well, I guess I did SOMETHING. I watched about 11 hours of movies today. Well, sorta movies. I watched Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel, and I cried like a baby a couple of different times. I also watched CSI, and Alias. Yay
While I was completely productive and doing that, I finished the TX square I was knitting on, and I managed to get to the foot part on the sock I’m working on. I have probably 4-5 more inches to go on the foot before I start the toe decreases, and then they’re done.
I also need to work frantically on April’s baby shower gift. HA. It’s a good thing I have a lot of travel time during the week. *g*
What else? I guess that’s it. I talked to Joe for a little bit on his way home from HIS exhausting weekend, but he was so tired he ended up ditching me once he got home to go to sleep. That’s okay though, because he sounded reeeeeally tired.
This week at work should hopefully be fairly uneventful. It’s the end of the month, which equates a pretty slow week for me, while it’s kinda busy for the other side of our “team.” I think I’m supposed to go sit in U/W and get lessons, but I don’t know if they’ll want me to go during end-of-month time. I might just get in the way, so I’ll have to discuss it with Bossman while I’m giving him a hard time tomorrow.
I have to say that I really, really love my job. I know it seems like everytime I post, I’m gushing about Bossman, but it really is amazing to me how much I adore the guy I work for & the stuff I have to do. I mean, ok.. maybe I don’t adore the work, but I enjoy my time while I’m there. That makes me REALLY happy. I love that I can wake up in the morning, and while I might not always be like “YAY! LET’S GO TO WORK! WHEE!!” right away, it’s nice to not DREAD going in for a change. I *hated* going to work when I was at Albertson’s, and I tried to think up all kinds of ways to call in, or ways to just.. walk out and never go back. I don’t have that at this place, and that’s really nice.
