Okay, so even though I think I’m DYING (I was sort of sick yesterday & am still not 100% today, but I feel a little better. I’ll spare you the details.), I’m getting a lot of this cleaning stuff done. I”m supposed to be getting my boxes today, so I’ve been taking care of business. Cleaning, throwing stuff away (got my book shelf to the trash, as well as my two dead dining chairs, plus about 3-4 bags of trash).. trying to sort of organize, so when I get my boxes, I just need to shove stuff in ‘em.
I decided to start going through the crap on my ledge between the front half of the apartment and the kitchen. One of the autographed hockey pucks I bought off eBay was up there… it was signed by Roman Lyashenko, #36 when he was on the Stars (he later went to the NY Rangers). I completely forgot I had that (I also have Morrow’s autograph, from when he was #45! heeh), so I decided that I hadn’t really heard his name at all in all the hockey talk. Turns out, after I Googled him, that he died while on vacation in Turkey back in 2003. After some more detective work, it looks like he committed suicide.
That’s so sad. Even sadder that it took me three years to find out, lol. but still. it’s really a downer.
