Cell phones/plans that allow for a song to play while the phone should be ringing.
Joe’s phone now does that. One of my coworker’s phones (who I don’t have to call very much anymore now that I’m someone’s assistant, instead of everyone’s assistant, thank GOD!) does that. It’s the most annoying thing in the world. I mean, it’s kinda cool the first time…when yer like “WTF?! Am I calling the right person?!” But then it’s just annoying.
Why can’t phones just ring like they’re supposed to?

Yo cuz… stop busting on the phones that play music. Polyphonic ingtones actually. I am a chronic ringtone downloader. I have one to match my moods and also distinguish between lovers, friends, and family. See… they are useful. Besides, they are so much better than the generic beepy sounding ones. I will put money on the fact that if you had a cell phone that could play music, you’d do it! It’s simply IRRESISTABLE! But, maybe… just maybe… (though I doubt it) this need for sweet ringtones diminishes with age but you are old! j/k!!
I was watching Nightly News with (what used to be Tom Brocaw but I forget the name of the new guy) a couple of weeks ago (yeah, I know I am getting old =P) and they did a study about cell phone users and what they preferred and they found out that 37% of Americans are ditching all the new, fancy phones (blackberrys included) for the plain Jane model. The reasoning behind it you ask? Because people were tired of having to “learn” the products. They stated that they wanted a phone that layed out how to call someone very simply. They also stated that they didn’t want e-mail and internet services on their phone because they didn’t want to pay for the bandwidth on the phone and the phones were too complicated to instruct.

I thought that was kind of strange myself. I didn’t think people actually used that option on their phone plans. Apparently I’m giving the world too much credit. Ahem.
