Cactus-Fish Love.. ;)

Okay, It’s 7:30(ish) in the morning, and I really need to get dressed sometime this morning (I’m in pjs, pervs) because I really need to be on time to work today (or early.. which is my on-time) because we have to watch some stupid pointless no-use to us presentation. (We found out yesterday that assistants are also included in this presentation-watching thing (because normally we’re not), and now no pregrades or files will be submitted today. /end rant) (Also, how many times can I use sets of parentheses in a single post?) What am I doing instead, however? Reading blogs. :)

I read most of my blogs through Bloglines (love it!), only veering off to the actual blogs when I’m bored beyond comprehension and nobody’s updated anything and I want to check to make sure they really haven’t updated (yes, I’m a nerd. Also, bored), or I remember that they don’t have an RSS feed, or I just want to see how their blog is looking these days.

Today? I was pleased with two posts that I got to read, and they were from the same family of people. :) Awesome how that works, huh? (Oh! Maybe that should’ve been in parentheses.. haha!) The first post by this family that I read was Mr. CactusFish’s post about his Bean’s first birthday, and it’s seriously one of the most touching posts I’ve ever read. Go! Now! Bring Kleenex! :) Chris, you rock, too. :)

Then on the totally other end of the spectrum (and it may not even be the SAME spectrum!), we have Mrs. CactusFish, and her desiccated cricket carcass poetry. I went to the previous post and read some of the poems that were left in the comments, and they are HYSTERICAL. Also, read her villanelle on the same topic. I’m going to have to find out what a villanelle is, because I don’t remember, and it’s bothering me. LOL :)

Okay, now that I’ve spent 20 minutes or so typing this up, I REALLY need to go get dressed and get out of here. :) Have a good day. :D

Okay, you made me sit and think about that stupid word for ten minutes while I was blending my cheesecake so I looked it up. (It was bothering me bad) So…

    Thanks to Wikipedia:

A Villanelle is a poetic form which entered English-language poetry in the late 1800’s from the imitation of French models.

And now, I feel stupid. (One of those “should have been driven into my brain” words)

Hope you are having a great weekend. We are going sailing this afternoon with Derek and then having a get together at my place at 7p if you are bored. Bring your swimsuit
