I just went “real” grocery shopping. Not “Oh, I need Soda/Something for Lunch or Dinner/Man, I really want some chocolate” shopping… Real “Groceries for the week” shopping.
Since I’m starting that Self Reach Your Goal thing, I decided that I’d take a page out of their meal plan “book”, and I bought groceries to go along with the things I intend to make from their lists. The only thing that will be different is lunch. Lunch will be left-overs or a Lean Cuisine or sandwich and a salad or something like that, because none of their lunches sound appetizing, and they sound like too much work. Lunch should be easy. I should not have to spend all the night before trying to throw together a big lunch, so all my focus, as far as cooking goes, will be on breakfast and dinner.
THeir exercise plan, at least for those of us starting out, is pretty easy. 20 minutes of aerobic whatever…walking around the block or just something to get you used to being active again, when you’re used to sitting on your tush knitting, like me.
so i’m going to explore my neighborhood. I haven’t decided if I’ll be doing this in the morning or if I’ll be doing this after work…. probably the walk stuff after work. I can take care of the strength training stuff in the morning, I think. I’m planning on starting to wake up a little earlier, since I’ll need to start worrying about breakfast and all that now, too.
I’m really excited. I plan to stick with it, this time.
My downfall will be when Joe’s here, I think. We always end up going out. ahha ![]()

Aw well good luck with that!! I give you major kudos for actually doing something like that. I could never give myself a “schedule” to follow regarding exercise or eating. As soon as I start to make a habit of something, I feel like I’m trapped… and it becomes less inviting. I have to just fool myself into WANTING to do it.
…Man I never realized how complicated I am even to myself. I pity the boy who marries me. lol.

Good luck! That all sounds really reasonable, so I hope you find it easy and enjoy it.
