sooo. yeah. hi. :)
i spent yesterday at my mom’s house & i came home with 95% of the yarn she had. i’ll be going through & doing inventory on it & then figuring out what to donate to whom & what to keep for myself. fun stuff. i just got back from the store (was getting my rent + bus pass (hehe i almost typed pus bass. ew)), and it’s hot. why can’t it be those couple of days last week when it was almost cold compared to now? at least it’s not in the 100s and stuff.

time to go knit or something, i have a bunch of things to get started on.

  1. Lucky you! My mother doesn’t have a crafty bone in her body. My great-aunt was a crocheter and/or knitter (no one in the family seems to know the difference), but she died years ago, and I’m sure all her things were unceremoniously sent to the dump. My grandmother promises to send me all her ’stuff’ but by the sound of it it’s probably just Red Heart yarn, crochet needles and half-finished quilts. My main hope now is another aunt who 6 months ago briefly mentioned that she used to knit. She has severe carpal tunnel now, so I keep hoping she’ll gift me some of her stuff when I see her again over the holidays.

Y’know… It still just cracks me up. For as long as I can remember, knitting was something my mother and grandmother did, it was never something “cool” and “trendy.” And it’s all changed now. It’s been so long that I’ve read about all my friends doing it, but it still makes me giggle about how excited everyone gets over yarn. Too cute.
