Seriously, how many people can say that?
a) I get to sleep in on Mondays.
b) I work until 8, but the last 2.5 hrs of my shift don’t count, because I’m not really working. Just putting all the food away after the meetings start and restocking the fridge. I get to read. Or knit. Or do whatever I want!
I don’t really have much else to report. I have like, no energy or desire to do anything once I get off work, and I’m really boring. I knit and watch Joe play the Wii, or we watch tv or something.
We’ve eaten at In ‘n Out approximately 472 times.
I got my new camera, but we haven’t gone anywhere or done anything since, and I keep forgetting to take it with me to work. LOL I might have to take a training course thingy on Thursday, but other than that, it’s no big deal.
My first payday is 7/6, and while I know that’s next week, it seems like FOR. EVER. away.
I’ll leave you with some pictures… me on my first day and some pics of Joe being stupid.
OH! Wait!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, GRANDMA & GRANDPA!!!!!

I’m trying to figure out what we are going to have for dinner tonight. We’ve had our fill of (homemade) burgers, and I need to make dinner tonight!
So… what are you having for dinner tonight?
Since I’m asking you to share, I”ll share a couple of recipes that we’ve had the last week:
Mini Turkey Burgers – really good!
Bow Tie Lemon Chicken – This is really good, but I scaled it down to a 2-serving recipe, and I started the chicken/sauce sooner than I should have. Next time we do this, we’re going to cube the chicken instead of leaving it in strips, and we’ll cook the pasta before we start the sauce, or just follow the 4-serving sauce recipe.
- *Get a new camera.
I know this isn’t exactly something I can afford right now, but I REALLY want a little camera.
- *Get a new iPod. Again, I have an ipod that works fine, but I want a NEW one.
- Find camera cord
- Take pics of new apt.
- Finish unpacking
- Restart 365 Days project. I was stupid to think I could/would keep it up while we were moving. This would also be something the spiffy LITTLE CAMERA would be awesome for. *ahem*
- See Shrek the Third (we’re going tomorrow!)
- Start a new knitting project
- Get settled. I’m feeling restless tonight, and the desire for more “NEW” is getting overwhelming.
I started unpacking, but in Joe’s haste to get to the airport last week, he tore up the closet, and it’s too messy for me to get in. I have a feeling most of my stuff is going to be stored in the closet. lol. We don’t have a couch, and that’s driving me nuts. The place is a mess, and it’s driving me insane. And that’s coming from me. LOL But the place is NEW (to us), and I’m in ‘keep it clean” mode. lol.
I miss everybody.
*hugs*
Apparently, there are new neighbors downstairs.
Apparently, they also think I’d enjoy listening to their (c)rap music.. er, well, the BASS from their (c)rap music.
Someone somewhere on the other side of the complex, or maybe it’s the complex across the street, has had their dog outside all day. The poor thing has been whining–not whimpering, not barking, but practically crying out for help…or at least to be let in–all freaking day. I thought it was just the wind blowing earlier in the day, but the wind isn’t blowing now. I hope they let the dog in soon, for its sake as well as my ears’ sake.
Well, I guess, technically, *our* new place, but since I”m the only one whose been there so far, it’s mine. haha
I’m hanging out at mom’s for the weekend, however. Mother’s Day and all, so I won’t get to stay there until Monday night.
Old Apt rent thru May: Paid.
New Apt rent thru May: Paid.
Movers: Paid.
Walmart, for a couple of necessities: Paid.
The movers ended up being on time/early, depending on which quote you go by. I changed the time online and confirmed via telephone on Thursday, and they said they got the time-change, and we were good to go. Mom picked me up and we went to do the lease signing, and everything was happy-happy, joy-joy. We looked at the place and I started filling out the checklist. I have 3 or so days to get it back, so I’m going to finish it up Monday.
I’ll have pics up eventually. It’s a lovely, cute apt, and I’ll have to have everyone over soon.
Like, after we get back from CA. And maybe get a couch, so ppl don’t have to sit on the floor. eheh.
I have a ton of cleaning to do at the old place, and I’m going to spend the rest of the week, until I leave, anyway, going over to the old place to clean up. I have a few more things (a box, max. plus my laundry basket) to make sure get packed up, but the rest of it’s just cleaning.
Time to catch up on email/blogs!
Want a good diet?
Spend 3-4 hrs a night cleaning & packing and having not much else but water. lol. Well, I”m imagining it works like a charm, but I haven’t weighed myself as the scale has already been packed.
I think it’s weird that I can sit up all night on Friday nights, but other nights it’s like my body KNOWS it’s a work night, and I have to go to sleep early.
Here’s what I have left to do, by tomorrow:
– Finish packing up kitchen (dishes, really. I’m almost done)
– Get crap out of closet (most everything left in the closet is just stuff I’m throwing away, so I just need to put it in bags, or take bags out)
– Get loose stuff off computer desk & throw it out or pack it. (not that much. most of it’s throw-away)
– Pack up electronics (dvd/vcr… printer… I think that’s it)
– Make a list of stuff to get at the store
– Notify PO of change of address (yes, i’m slow. I need to get ‘em to hold my mail while I’m gone, too. haha)
– Make a list of places I need to get my address changed on (work, bank, credit cards, Netflix, magazines, etc.)
– Get phone changed over (Can prolly wait until I get back from CA. Have the cell phone anyway)
– Find out if DSL will switch over. If not, figure out what to do for internet. (Can probably wait until I get back from CA, since I’m only going to be in the new place a week, anyway.)
– Get AddyChange cards to send to ppl? or just email everyone (if you want in on it & aren’t normal friends/family, but I know you and you want me to have your info anyway, comment or email me your address)
– add more to this list as I think of it.
Ok, that was a long enough break.
ABBA rules!
So yeah, I’ve been cleaning and throwing stuff away all day. I decided that I needed boxes, but there’s no way I’m going to be able to carry all of the boxes that I probably need home, sooo.. I ordered boxes. They’ll be here tomorrow, so I can’t really PACK anything today, but that gives me today to clean and clean and clean.
Things I also need to do:
- Get electricity turned on
- Look into renters’ ins.
- Contact SBC about phone/internet
- Continue cleaning/throwing crap away
I’ve decided that I’m going to do the unthinkable. I’m tossing almost all of my pictures.
Band pics? tossed.
Other pics? tossed.
Only because I have sooooooooo many.
I’m keeping the negatives… but if I were to keep the pictures, there’d be no room for Joe. haha. I have 6-7 photo/video boxes filled with photos. I have like 13 photo albums filled with pictures. I have 5? 6? binders full of negatives. I’m keeping the negatives. I don’t know where they’ll go, but I can’t toss the negatives. Maybe when I get a free day after all this stuff is done and people are settled, and I can breathe without wanting to kill someone, I’ll go through negatives & figure out which ones I really need to keep.
I know I”ll get sucked into looking at the pics… I’m going to keep some of my favorite friend/family/cat pics, but everything else is out the door.
It’s kind of scary.
Is it tonight yet? I need a sit-and-knit/watch-a-movie break.
Can I just throw out everything in my apartment–with the exception of my laptop, tv, printer, some of my clothes, books, and knitting stuff–and start over? Ugh.
Going through things to decide what’s important enough to keep and what can get tossed is really freaking annoying. How did I end up with so much crap?!
