Okay… I don’t usually do “advertising” on my blog, and this isn’t really advertising. Okay, it sort of is advertising, but I have to support my boy, Damian. I’ve just loved him to pieces since we first saw Plasma Jack, and now he’s got his own solo thing going. Megan and I went to see him back in August (too long ago!!) at his cd release party, and I just have to say that the cd is awesome.

Holy crap on a stick. I just found out that 3 of the guys (Mark, Moonshine, Coach) from 2 different bands (Dollybraid, 40%) that I used to see ALL THE TIME are now in a new band all together. They’re called Miser, and I can’t believe I haven’t heard of them until tonight.
They’re playing a show on the 1st, but that’s all the way up in Denton, and I have stuff to do that day. They’re also playing at a show at a place that’s literally 5 minutes away from where I live. I’ve seen it, but I’ve never been there. I didn’t know they had actual bands there. *haha* So I’m making plans to go to that… Joe in tow or not. Maybe I can grab Megan, too. She can crash on the futon or something. *lol*
Anyway… as you can also see, I’ve done a little um.. redecorating. I upgraded to the newest version of Wordpress (went from version 1.5.2 to 2.0.4), and I decided to give my blog a new look, thanks to the Wordpress Themes directory. I also redecorated my knitting blog.
Hell YEAH! I can’t wait until tomorrow. I haven’t been this excited in a long time!!!!!!!! I have lots of things to get ready today before we leave, so here’s a to-do list I can cross off and get stuff done.
- Pick Megan up.
- Drop off gumball machine & already-watched DVDs
- Shopping and dinner w/ Megan
- Charge Nikon battery
- Charge Canon batteries
- Buy a roll or two of B&W film.
- Make sure Nikon#2 has batteries
- Pack cameras (Nikon Digital, Nikon 35mm, Canon P&S) [Aside: Not sure if I’m bringing the 35mm, but if I do, I know I’ll get decent pics and will be able to get some B&W pics w/o falling in love with the color pics and having to change ‘em b&W since my dSLR doesn’t do b&W.)
- Pack phone charger
- Pack Laptop & charger (going to rip Damian’s cd so I can put it on my iPod for the drive back. hee)
- Charge iPod and update w/ new songs.
- Pack ipod charger. (dude. enough chargers? I know we’re only there a DAY, but I don’t want anything dying.. especially my phone and our entertainment)
- Listen to Damian’s new songs on his myspace (http://www.myspace.com/damiangiglio)
- Pack pjs & show outfit (that’s what we’re shopping for)
- Pack toothbrush, deodorant, makeup
- Remember Tickets.
- Find a suitable show purse, since I’ll have all those effing cameras
- Rethink taking ALL of the cameras.
- Get gas.
- *SQUEE!!!!! I’M GOING TO GO SEE DAMIAN!!!!!!!!!
- Print Directions.
- Add POC numbers to phone.
- Plan: Wake up at 7. Out the door by 7:30 (preferred) but no later than 8.
- *SQUEE!!!!* I’M GOIGN TO SEE DAMIAN!!!!!!!!!!! AND MY SISTER’S COMING WITH ME!!!!!!!! AND IT’S GOING TO BE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Get ready for work & go to work since, like, I have to go to work. ANd I have a meeting w/ Bossman. And I need to work, despite the fact that it’s Friday and tomorrow I get to go see DAMIAN!!!! PLAY!!!
- *HAPPY DANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!*
I really hate how my weekend works.
I get home Friday night, ready to crash at like, 8pm (slight exaggeration. I usually make it until 9:30-10. heh). When I finally go to bed, I make sure my alarm’s off, so I can sleep until whenever, and I wake up at 7am. The extra hour or so that I get (during the week, the alarm goes off at 5… I snooze it until about 6 then get up, take a shower & throw some clothes on and catch the bus at 6:30) on Saturday morning somehow makes it possible for me to stay up hours and hours and hours later than I would any other night. I end up waking up at about 6 on Sunday morning, though, ON MY OWN… and am so tired all day, but I know if I take a nap, I won’t go to sleep. What’s UP with that?!?!
I think it’s safe for me to post about this now, but in case you’re family, and you haven’t talked to Mom yet today cuz she’s had to call you a billion times, call her before you read on!!

A review of the Green Day show
DUDE! I WAS THERE!!!
OR: The post where I talk about my Green Day concert.
IT FREAKING RULED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were in the 2nd floor section, so we were far away, and we were on the side of the stage, but our seats were still pretty good. We got there & this guy was in one of our seats, so that sucked. We just moved down a seat & I freaked out everytime someone came in. (There wasn’t an usher person standing at the door when we came in, so we didn’t go tell anyone anything.) After the show started, a lady came over to check our tickets & she made the other guy leave, so we got our seats. Rock on!
Jimmy Eat World came on, and they were whatever. I just don’t care about them. lol. I knew more songs than I thought I did, but still – whatever.
Then they did the stage stuff, and a drunk bunny came on stage & tried to do the YMCA and stuff. I believe it was a band member, but which band member it is, who knows. It was hilarious.
THEN THE BAND CAME OUT!!! I sat there in awe for like THREE SONGS. I’m like… “Hi, I’m in the same room as Green Day. How is that even possible?? OH MY FREAKING GOD!!!” lol They started w/ American Idiot, then they did Jesus of Suburbia, and Holiday, and Are We The Waiting, but I don’t think it was after Holiday… hrm.. (I should’ve brought paper/pen to write it down!). Then they played Longview, and that’s kinda when I woke up. LOL They played Basket Case and some more songs.. St Jimmy, umm.. When September Ends… uh.. other songs. That I don’t remember. lol. IT RULED!! They played Minority, and King For a Day, which they turned into Shout & Stand By Me, then went back to finish King for a Day. They did the Operation Ivy cover on 1039, where they pulled members from the audience out. the bass player kicked ass, and the drummer was cool – tre showed him what to do for the song & he started playing his own thing & tre whacked him upside the head. lol Billie Joe pulled some kid out of the audience to play his guitar, and was like “how long have you been playing?! 7 years?? how old are you? 18? have you ever gotten laid?” and i guess the kid said no.. cuz billie joe’s like “well you’re getting laid tonight! get your ass up here!!” lol the kid rocked the guitar, too. billie joe ended up letting him keep the freaking guitar. lol HOW COOL IS THAT?!?!?!? they ended the first set with Minority, then came back out to do Maria, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, We are the Champions, and Time of Your Life.
Is it sad that I almost started crying during Time of Your Life?? Wow, I’m tearing up just typing this out. lol. I never thought I’d ever get to see Green Day. they were all popular and stuff, and when they came to town I couldn’t go (no money for tickets, no way to get there, no one to go with ) any of the times, and then they sorta dropped off the face of the planet…and if they ever came to dallas, I never knew it. now they’re huge again & I FREAKING GOT TO GO!!!
