Oh, one more thing.

HOW DID I GET SUCKED INTO THE BACHELOR?
Oh yeah, because I was watching Dancing with the Stars.

Boston Legal premiers tomorrow and I. CAN’T. WAIT! :)

If they say “It’s the HOTTEST BACHELOR EVER” one more time, I’m going to KILL someone. Why, oh why, did I not send back my Netflix sooner?

Btw – Weeds? I love that show. I can’t relate as far as the whole “pot” thing is concerned, but I think it’s kind of hilarious. And Life Is Beautiful is a wonderful movie. I can’t believe it’s taken so long for me to watch it.

Joe and I went to see The Simpsons this afternoon, and it was HILARIOUS. :) I was kind of worried, because we watched a Simpsons “marathon” the other day that was 2 hrs of shows, and I was about to die after the 2nd or 3rd one. The movie was okay, though. Definitely a little PG-13 or so… they get away with a bit more than they can on TV, but it was still highly entertaining. I think we laughed the whole movie.

The worst part about the movie is that Joe now calls me Boob Lady. :/ rofl. And Stacy will LOVE the beginning part. LOL

Maybe it’s because I’m knitting and sort of paying attention/sort of not paying attention. Maybe it’s because I’m not in the mood to watch some crazy indie-ish film, but seriously. This movie is on crack.

So I finally got some laundry done, and decided to watch my last Netflix movie of the weekend: An Unfinished Life.

It was one that I’d put in my queue & didn’t realize I had so close to the top (you know how the new releases go pretty fast). I read the description on the disc envelope, and was kinda like “I don’t really think I’m in the mood to see anything like this.” but it was a really great movie.

No special effects, just a great story, beautiful scenery If you get the chance to see it, I highly recommend it. It’s probably one of the best movies I’ve seen in a really long time (there’s so much crap out there), and everyone in the movie (Robert Redford, Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Lopez, and the girl who played her daughter) really show off their talent. Yes, even Jennifer Lopez… I know she has her faults, but some of her movies are pretty good.

This morning, Joe offered me the choice between four different places where we can take our sorta-vacation. We’re only going to have a couple of days there, but I get to pick between Disneyland, Universal Studios, Yosemite National Park, or Yellowstone National Park.

I was kinda leaning towards the national parks… it’s not every day I get to see the beautiful country we live in, and I think I’d get more out of the vacation than going to DisneyLand or Universal Studios and having a craptastic time of Joe trying to get me on rides I don’t want to go on (except the spinny teacups. I really want to ride in the spinny teacups. lol). He’s wanted to take me to Yosemite for a while, but after seeing the movie, I think I’m kinda leaning towards Yellowstone. *lol* :) We’ll see though. He was going to think about it today, and if I get to talk to him tonight, we’ll probably discuss it then.

Yay for vacations. :D I love how whenever we’re together, we always manage to somehow pull a fantastic trip out of our asses. *lol* (haha. isn’t that a lovely mental picture??) I’m kinda sad that it’s not really going to be the case anymore, since we’ll be.. you know.. LIVING together. But I hope we’ll always be able to kinda decide “hey, let’s go here this weekend.” and go see a spiffy place. I’ve gotten sort of spoiled. hehe

I love it when things get screwed up in my favor. I ordered my groceries online because I needed a lot of heavy stuff (case of water, sodas were on sale, etc. etc. etc.), and one of the things I ordered was a quart of milk. I don’t drink milk by itself, and since my cooking as of late has been essentially non-existant, I haven’t really cooked much with it either, but I always get at least a quart, just in case. Well, this quart of milk was $1.49! And when I got my groceries?! I’d received a whole GALLON! I’ll be eating lots of macaroni & cheese this week, as well as doing a lot of baking with recipes that require milk. *lol* :) I’d hate to toss it. :(

So yeah.. now I’m all excited about a gallon of milk. :)

I’ve been busy knitting & watching movies. I watched the last two DVDs of Alias, Season 1. YAY. And Assault on Precinct 13. Blockbuster’s being retarded and saying they didn’t get my other two movies, so I’ve had to report them as missing. Yay. THey sent one of them (some animated cat movie..not Aristocats, but something else. I forget the name.. but it looked cute, and I’m in a cartoony sort of mood.), but I haven’t received it yet, so I”ll be watching the original Yours, Mine & Ours because I’ve never seen it before, and everyone seems to think that’s the greatest sin that ever occured, so i’m absolving myself today. ;) It’s Sunday after all. *LOL* :) Perfect time for an oldie. :) And some knitting.

Netflix does it again.

After the last response, I emailed them again.. saying if that’s the case, then why did they send me the FIFTH DISC of a different series? It’s not the different series that is pissing me off – it’s the fact that they state they’ll hold off on 1 series if the next disc isn’t available so you can watch it in order. if that’s SUCH A HUGE DEAL, why didn’t they send me THE FIRST DISC of the next series? or the next disc of the next series? or something in an order THAT MAKES SENSE!?!?!

TC said I should email them again and not be so nice, but I don’t really know what the point is. I don’t want anything other than an answer, and it’s obvious they have nothing but form answers for their responses. I’m not asking for a free month or anything.

Apparently there is a class action lawsuit against Netflix, and I’ve already signed up for that… I don’t want to have to cancel just to sign up again to get my free month of service. I did get the next Alias DVD, though, last night, so that’s something.

PS: HARRY POTTER! TOMORROW NIGHT! WOOOO!! :)

I love Netflix. I really do. Or I did, until last week. THey’re making it easy to decide which service (Netflix or Blockbuster) to cancel.

I have a queue set up specifically for TV shows on DVD. I don’t get cable or Direct TV or TiVo or Whatever Else is out there, or there are a lot of different shows on a lot of different days & I don’t get to watch them all. With everything being released on DVD, I figured this was a spiffy way to spend my dvd-watching time.

I had it set up so I staggered a disc of two different shows (like now: Alias Season 1 and Freaks & Geeks). I was set to receive Alias, Season 1, Disc 5, which currently says it’s AVAILABLE but was sent PARTY OF FIVE, Season 1, Disc 5. Okay, I haven’t even seen the FIRST FOUR dvds of Party of Five.

I emailed Netflix asking what the point of a queue was if they were going to randomly send movies (that disc was #13 in my queue, and 4-5 days later (ie. Today), I got a response. Here’s what the customer service person said:

Dear Amanda,

Thanks for your message.

“Alias: Season 1: Disc 5″ is currently on a short wait.

If a disc of the set in higher priority is not available, please note the rest of the discs in the series will be passed in order to ensure the discs are viewed in the proper order. If a series has multiple seasons, each season is considered a separate set. Therefore, if both Season 1 and 2 of a set are in your Rental Queue, and Season 1 is unavailable, it is possible for discs from Season 2 to ship prior to Season 1.

Each disc will be a separate shipment and hold a separate spot in your Rental Queue. Please keep in mind you may always check if a DVD is part of a multiple disc set by viewing the “Details” section of the movie display page.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

Explain to me how I was sent DISC 5 OF A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SHOW THEN?! THey could’ve sent D2 of Freaks And Geeks or, oh, I don’t know… MAYBE DISC 1 of PoF?!?!?

*grrrrrrrrr!!*

long time no post, kind of.

i wish I had stuff to post about, but I really don’t.
i’m sorry for that. not that i think anybody keeps checking to see if i’ve posted (ok, maybe tc.. ;) ), but still.

um, what’s going on?
not much. my birthday is in *counts* 13 days. my boyfriend will be here in 12 days. so far it looks like i’m getting quite a few people at my birthday party. i feel kind of bad, though, because there are a couple things going on next weekend, and i don’t know yet if i can go to either one of them. :/ (fair warning to those of you who are throwing things.)

i’ve started organizing the knitting stuff. really, the only thing worth posting about is the knitting, adn that all goes on on the knitting site. lots of yarn and books have been coming in. i’m knitting up a storm on an afghan that seems like it’ll never be done & a mysterious project for my LSSK group & just all kinds of things.

i’ve been watching movies today like nobody’s business. and i need to clean. i need to take the trash out and at least do a load of laundry. i’ve started moving the knitting books off my bookshelf in the living room & storing them in my closet. I have more “book shelf” space in there, and then it’s not cluttering up the living room. not that *I* mind when I’m here–easier access, but i’m not sure my impending guest will have the same philosophy. in fact, i’m certain he wont. :)

some mini-movie reviews:
Mr. 3000: Okay. Not the greatest movie ever, but entertaining.
King Arthur: Suck.
The OC: Man I love this show. If I ever remember that it’s on Fox on Thursday, I might actually watch it on tv instead of on DVD.

Time to start cleaning and stuff. Yay fun.

So here I am at approximately 1:30am listening to everything I have in iTunes currently on shuffle (Currently: STP – Wicked Garden) and cleaning. Well, I started cleaning anyway. Until I tackled the yarn boxes to make them a bit more organized. It looks like I’m going to do a small amount of destashing. I have some things that I think my friend Teresa might like now that she’s knitting again (muhaha. I’ve rubbed off on her now that I see her almost everyday. That and she’s completed a couple projects), so I’m going to give her first dibs then either post on KP or ebay them. We’ll see.

(Currently playing: Green Day – Walking Contradiction) Speaking of this song, they didn’t play it at my concert. Joe’s supposed to be calling me when his concert’s done/when he gets home, but I don’t know if he’ll actually call. He’ll promise to call, but if it’s after a time he thinks is too late, he won’t. Or he will, I’ll sleep through it, and he’ll whisper into the voicemail like he’s afraid he’s going to wake me up. LOL :)

(Currently playing: Green Day – Church on Sunday. LOVE THIS SONG)
I finished a Lacy Round washcloth, and I started another plain one. I’m 3 away from my 10 that I intend to send to Cloths for Katrina. I also knitted a bunch more on Misty Garden.

My hermit weekend was slightly interrupted. I found out I was out of TP (thought I still had at least 1 roll), so I had to run to the store, so I walked up to Walgreens & got TP and paper towel (out of that too, and I was out, so why not?) and a couple other things I probably didn’t really need…and a report cover thing for one of my SP6 presents.

As for movie watching, so far I have watched The OC: Season 2, disc 3 and Guess Who?. Guess Who was really cute. BTW – Bernie Mac is a leftie, so I officially like him more than I did before. ;)

What else can I ramble about? I dunno. But I know I’m getting kinda tired. I have two more yarn boxes to go through (managed to organize one this morning and two tonight), and I found a couple circs to add to my needle binder.

I didn’t do any laundry tonight, so I have to do some of that tomorrow. I also need to finish cleaning up the living room, and then I’ll be happy. Oh, and watch the rest of my movies (A Home at the End of the World, Hostage, and Suspect Zero).

We didn’t get any rain from Rita. I’m disappointed. :/ But we got lots of wind and some clouds. Better than nothing, I guess. My friend Damian lives in Beaumont, as well as a couple people on my knitting list. I know the knitters made it out, so I hope he and his family made it out all safe and sound. :(

Anyway.. nightnight time.

HI, all….
it’s me.. your disappearing hostess, Manda.

I’m serious.. I swear you’ll forget my name.

I haven’t been posting much because the only time I think of stuff to post is at work, and, well, I have a pretty strict rule against posting from work. Well, that, and I’ve been way, way, way, way too busy this week to even attempt it. After work, I end up talking to Joe most of the way home, or starting when I walk in the door, and then I don’t really get to post because I’m busy talking to him. Hmm.. I forgot that I can post to here through email though. Maybe I’ll have to start doing that & editing them when I get home.

SO yeah, that’s why I’ve been dead.
I’ll post more when he goes back to school or something. *lol*

I do have a ton to post about, even though I can’t think of a thing right now – but I know there’s a lot.

Most importantly, I’m taking a trip in the near future to see Joe! :) It’s an unplanned trip, but one I’m happy to be able to make. :) It’ll only be for a weekend, so I won’t be there too long, but it’ll be something. :) It was kind of a surprise because I brought it up while he was half asleep, and he thought he dreamed it until he checked his email. *rofl* :)

I’ve been having a craptastic movie selection from Netflix lately, which is my own fault.. but I just haven’t been happy with much of what I’ve been getting. It’s disappointing, because I’ve been excited to see the last few movies from my list, but have sent them back nearly unwatched because I was just like… I really don’t want to watch this right now. My television series rentals are the only things that have saved the day.. right now I’m on the 1st season of Charmed. I don’t know why I didn’t watch that show when it first started. :) Ohh, I think it was because I pretty much worked every single Sunday & missed it by the time I got home. Maybe that was it. I’m getting Million Dollar Baby, A Very Long Engagement, and Charmed, Season 1, Disc 3 this week/end, so maybe these will have some redeaming qualities. If I can get through them.

I ordered some yarn off ebay about three weeks ago and never received it.. but I found out that the buyer didn’t put my complete address on it, and they just got around to returning it to her. LOL :) She said she’s shipping it priority, so I should get it tomorrow or Saturday. that’s awesome. :) I’m very excited about this. :D Not that I have any idea what I’m going to do with it, but it’s pink (bubblegum) cotton ease to add to my stash of almost every other color (that I could find). :)

I’m knitting on a bunch of projects, for those of you who don’t read my knitting blog. Lots of washcloths, the Charlotte’s web shawl, and a couple other things for charity items. I started my Christmas knitting list, and I’ve completed one item already. I have 25 people, not including coworkers, that I want to knit for. I’ve decided that I”m just going to knit a whole bunch of washcloths in different colors, then pick out two or three for each person so I can give them as a set. :) They’re easy, I can get about 2 out of a ball of yarn, and they take almost NO time.

I’m getting Harry Potter on Saturday!! :) I’m so excited. I hope it comes with the regular mail – I got an email from Amazon.com that says to give them until 7pm before we start calling customer service. I hope I’m not one of those people who needs to wait until 7. LOL :) I’m planning my day around getting the mail, because I know they won’t leave it, and I really don’t want to have to sit here all day and not do anything or get anything done because they don’t show up until 7pm. :( I have library books to take back and a fine to pay because they didn’t renew a book i thought renewed & it’s a big mess that’s all my fault, but considering the amount of books i have out, the fine isn’t that much. LOL :)

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnyway… I’ve rambled on far too long, but I think I’ve caught you up.
My apartment’s a mess. I suppose I could *clean* while I wait for Harry Potter to get here. :D eheheh
