So, I’ve been seriously neglecting the ol’ blog here. I finished Harry Potter on Monday while at work (seriously.. I’m so slow, that’s what I did for most of the day, until I finished it).

So, I like my job, and I feel bad about whining about having nothing to do… but I wish I had work-related things to do. The good news is, I’m getting a lot of reading and knitting done, and I’m going to be making a dent in my bookshelf. I’ve found that if I have a book that will stay open on its own and a fairly easy pattern, I can knit while I read - something I’ve been wanting to master for a long time. heeh :)

I’ll try to post more. Really. LOL :)

Also, please wish congratulations and best wishes and happy thoughts to my pal, MellyPie and her brand-new husband! They got married this past Monday. :D

Also, Happy (belated) birthday to my friend Jerry!! His bday was yesterday. :)

Happy Birthday, April!!!!! :) (I’m really glad you didn’t already have the “In Death” book…LOL)

Happy Anniversary, TC & Alex! :)

Happy St Patrick’s Day!!! :D Drink a green beer for me.. ;)

HAHA. I forgot to post this the other day, but check this out? I bought some New York brand Texas Toast garlic bread stuff, and I was putting it away when I happened to see the panel w/ the expiration date and stuff on it…

New York Texas Toast
It’s made in Canada!! *lol* :)

I found that amusing. :)

I went to mom’s house on Monday to get her to help me with the crochet edging of a shawl I’d just finished. I suck at crochet. I can do a single chain, and even that’s a bit wonky, but I can chain stitch all day long. I will crochet you the longest chain you’ve ever seen if you want, but I can’t go any further than that. *lol* :) I actually just wanted her to SHOW me how to do it, but she ended up doing the whole crocheted edging so I didn’t screw it up at the end. I did my bind off too tight, so it didn’t block out like it probably could have, but I think it’s pretty. I like it like that, so I don’t think I’m even going to fringe it like the pattern tells you to. Thanks, mom!! :) I need to take some better pictures, but is one just so you can see it.

Charlotte's Web

Joe sent me flowers today and they are very pretty. :) The daisies are wilting though, so I don’t know how long the flowers will last this time around, but they sure are pretty. :D Thank you, baby… I love you. :) I’ll try to remember my camera tomorrow so I can take a picture.. or maybe it’s best that I don’t. lol. But it’s a very pretty arrangement. :)

An interesting meme/quiz/survey type thing. It’s been floating around blogland, and I’m finally giving in. Or maybe I”m repeating myself. I don’t remember. :) Open your itunes or music files or something and hit shuffle. Fill in the blanks w/ the songs that play. Don’t skip songs, just put down the 1st song that comes up for each blank! :)

Opening Credits: Stars (Acoustic) by Miser [Dude. ROck on!!]
Waking Up: Possibilities by Teddy Geiger
Falling In Love: Superhero by Collapsis
Fight Scene: Rooftops and Invitations by Dashboard Confessional
Breaking Up: The Diary of Jane by Breaking Benjamin
Making up: Part of the Queue by Oasis (Doesn’t sound like a very good make up song. LOL)
Life’s Okay: Fumbling Towards Ecstasy by Sarah McLachlan
Mental Breakdown: When the Stars go Blue by Tyler Hilton & Bethany Joie Lenz (lol. shut up. I love OTH, even though I haven’t seen it in like, forever.)
Driving: Don’t Wait by Dashboard Confessional
Flashbacks: Creep by Stone Temple Pilots (HAHA! Awesome! It would’ve sucked if this was a “new” band! *LOL* rock on.)
Happy Dance: No One by Athenaeum (not a very happy-dance song, but it makes me smile. :D)
Regretting: Exit to Exit [Acoustic] by Ryan Cabrera (”You wanted something more than this… fell down for someone else’s kiss..”)
Final Battle: The Future Soon by Jonathan Coulton (LOL! What?!)
Death Scene: Run from Thunder by MG4 (uh, not really.)
Ending Credits: Of All the Gin Joints in the World by Fallout Boy

What’s your soundtrack??

I think that’s all I’ve got right now. :)

Well, today was a good day.   My boss snuck in and snuck back out while I was at lunch, so I made him come up again … haha. He liked his card and his cake and kept talking about how nice it was and all that stuff, so it was pretty cool. He hung out for a minute and told a few funny stories, and he laughed at my card, which was pretty damn funny too…. so it was all good. :)

I love birthdays… :) lol

My poor Joe.. he’s so exhausted. he’s hanging out on the east coast this week for work and by the time he got to the hotel last night, it was 11 their time (about 8 his time), and he woke up really early, so he only got a few hrs sleep…and I guess he worked all day today (like 12 hrs), plus they all took everyone out for dinner.  he managed to listen to my story of the day, but he’s so exhausted.   the only thing i love about when he’s really tired is he gets all sleepy and cuddly, and even when he’s far away, i can still tell that.   i love cuddling with him when he’s all sleepy and stuff. :) man, i miss him. lol

i’ll get to see him this weekend though, so that’ll be fun. :)

i dyed some yarn today!!  i used some burgundy cake-dye that i got at Michael’s, and it turned out hot pink. it’s AWESOME. :) one of the things on my bday wish list is going to be some undyed yarn, so i can dye up some more. maybe i’ll hand paint some stuff… ohh the possibilities. :)

Well, Teresa and Alex have finally tied the knot. I was lucky enough to be there, after having a discussion with a co-worker about witnesses. The fact that I was standing right next to her and go “Do I need to ask Bossman for time off?” sealed my fate as witness.

I really didn’t do much other than witness, and as it’s not my story to tell, you all have to WAIT until Teresa decides to get online and post about it. Which may not be until Tuesday.. and maybe not even then, depending on her work load. *muhaha*

I leave you with one picture, taken before the ceremony so that means it’s fair game, of the happy family (and a silly Gabby picture):

I love my Joe weekends just as much as I love my Joeless weekends.

I left work kind of early on Friday, but I didn’t really feel bad about it. I didn’t exactly ask permission, but my last conversation w/ Bossman ended with “Have a good weekend.” Having stayed til 6pm the night before, 5:45 the 2 nights before that, and having 2 hrs of OT under my belt, I didn’t feel bad about leaving 45 minutes early. I DID feel bad about leaving Joe at the airport for what amounted to about 2 and a half hours, thanks to my not being able to get off (got notice about him actually being here this weekend on Wed. night) in time to get him and traffic.

My Joe and Me
He’s not very cooperative when it comes to the camera being in his face. This is the best one I took this weekend. Aww. :)

We came home and crashed for a couple of hours, and decided about 10pm that we wanted to eat, so off we went. My only idea as to where to go for dinner was “fooooooooood. I want foooooooooooood. F-O-O-D. FOOD!!” So we went in the direction of Stonebriar Mall. It’s not too far away, but it wasn’t Chili’s, which is what I had for lunch when Teresa and I went that afternoon, and it wasn’t Friday’s which seems to be what we eat when we’ve already had Chili’s. We ended up getting there, and I turned down a street that was kinda dark and scary because I was in a turn lane and decided to go because it looked like it came out at civilization. It didn’t… it was like, a car dealership or something, so we turned around and went back to the main road. Right across the street was Applebee’s, so I made the executive decision to go there.

We had a nice dinner, even though it seemed like they were kinda trying to rush us. We ordered an appetizer, and about 2.45638 minutes after they brought the appetizer out, we had our meal. The hell? You can’t get food that fast when you want it.. lol.

So we ate, then we came home STUFFED. We came home, and I think we pretty much crashed after that. lol. :) I woke up about 7 or 8, and he slept most of the day. About 1:30 or so I went in to see if he was awake, and he woke up, but then I fell asleep. I woke up at 3 or so, and he asked if I wanted to go swimming. I did, but it was too effing hot out yesterday, and I knew even in the pool it would be suffocating, so we opted to get lunch and go to a movie.

He gave me more to go on for lunch (fast food) than he did for dinner the night before, so we went to Jack in the Crack because it was near the theater. We decided on the way TO the theater that rather than scarf lunch down, we’d go to the 5pm instead of 4pm showing of You, Me, and Dupree. So, after lunch I went to get gas, and then we went back to the movies. The movie was pretty funny. Not as bad as some of the reviews I’d read said, but not as good as I was hoping it would, or that it could, be. Still pretty funny and sweet.

After the movie, we came back home. We changed into bathing suits and went swimming. We talked about wedding stuff and future stuff, and I think we’ve finally made some sort of decision. I think. heh. Gah. Anyway, yeah, so then we got out of the pool and walked back to the apartment. We watched Matchpoint and decided again, at 10pm, that we were hungry, so we ordered pizza. We really need to eat better and have a better schedule on the weekends when he’s here. ahah :) Oh well.

It was nice, we ended up going to bed about midnight, and woke up at about 5:45 this morning so we could get some breakfast and head to the airport. I dropped him off about 7:30am or so, and I came back home. His flight was a little delayed, which worked in his favor, because the checkpoint lines were pretty long, and he ended up getting stopped for a luggage check. He would’ve made it anyway, but I would’ve been nervous. :) I knitted and watched dvds, and he finally got back to CA. :) I ended up crashing and burning this afternoon, and he’s been sleeping since I don’t know when. I called him, like promised, at 7:30 this evening, but he fell back to sleep a minute later. I tried calling him again at 8, and he did the same thing, so I’m just going to let him sleep. :)

I hope I’m not up all night tonight. *lol* :) I’m going to catch up on podcasts and knit some more.

Have a good night. :)
