Every time I hear a new Green Day song or see a new Green Day video, I am 13 again. I am sitting in the apartment my mom, sister and I lived in during summer vacation. I am listening to Dookie. I am watching MTV non-stop, waiting for for the NEXT Green Day video to come on. I am on the phone 8+ hours a day with my boyfriend at the time, or I am online in a local BBS chat room, talking to online friends… typing Green Day lyrics back and forth with a friend who lived in Houston, crushing on a guy who kinda looks a bit like Billie Joe & actually gave me the time of day. I am wishing I had enough money to buy that copy of Kerplunk! I see everytime I go to Blockbuster Music. I am also trying to find a copy of 1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours, which is nearly impossible to find… and when I do find it in a CD Warehouse-type store (except more indie and much cooler) in Addison, the world is ending because my mom won’t give me the money to buy it.
I did eventually get that copy of Kerplunk! I spent birthday money on it. We went right back to Blockbuster Music, where it had been but no longer was. I FREAKED OUT. They looked it up in the system, and the computer said they had it. They had to go dig around in boxes for it. I also got the copy of 1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours. I threw a tantrum of EPIC proportions when we were back in the car, and I don’t remember why my mom gave me the money for it, but that she did. I had to run back into the store and get it, wiping tears off my cheeks.
My New Favorite Baby!! Annbalynn Rose was born a week ago (3/21), and I am a bad auntie who is just now posting it.
See why I didn’t wanna include it in the last post? This is one of my favorite pics of just her so far. It’s one of those “infamous” pics… kinda like my sister’s black eye photo from 1st or 2nd grade… or my “short hair” picture from 2nd grade that everyone LOVES, but I HATE.
(Photo shamelessly stolen from TC’s photostream and used without permission, but EEK! BABY! [Thanks, TC.. lol])
BTW, I just renewed my domain, so the blog will be housed here for another year. Here’s hoping I post more than 12 times.
One of my favorite childhood treats is this tasty thing. Spread some chocolate frosting on a graham cracker, break it in half (or you can break it in half first, or just make a really big one by using 2 sheets of graham crackers), and eat! You could use just about any frosting, but the chocolate versions are the best.
Joe and I have had a very laid back Valentine’s day. This is actually our very first Valentine’s Day together (he was traveling for work last year. BOO!), but he’s not feeling very well, so we did lots of tv-watching and napping and video-game playing. I also knit a bunch. For dinner, I really had my heart set on Breakfast for Dinner & none of the options sounded good to Joe so he decided to take one for the team, so we went to IHOP. Joe’s a bigger fan of Breakfast for Breakfast, and it’s not his most favorite place to go anyway, so I really appreciated it. I think, though, that we need to make it a tradition, because IHOP? On Valentine’s Day at 8pm? Very nearly dead! No reservations, no waiting for a table. It was great!
I hope your Valentine’s Day is/was all that you hoped it would be, and filled with lots of love!
I have NO idea when it originally aired, but considering Dina and Adam were making googly eyes at each other the other night, I had to post it.
BTW, Dina… “Infatuation” came on while I was listening to M5 on shuffle on one of my breaks and that song is SO ABOUT YOU!! Only written before he MET you!! hahaah
So, I’ve been seriously neglecting the ol’ blog here. I finished Harry Potter on Monday while at work (seriously.. I’m so slow, that’s what I did for most of the day, until I finished it).
So, I like my job, and I feel bad about whining about having nothing to do… but I wish I had work-related things to do. The good news is, I’m getting a lot of reading and knitting done, and I’m going to be making a dent in my bookshelf. I’ve found that if I have a book that will stay open on its own and a fairly easy pattern, I can knit while I read – something I’ve been wanting to master for a long time. heeh
I’ll try to post more. Really. LOL
Also, please wish congratulations and best wishes and happy thoughts to my pal, MellyPie and her brand-new husband! They got married this past Monday.
Also, Happy (belated) birthday to my friend Jerry!! His bday was yesterday.
HAHA. I forgot to post this the other day, but check this out? I bought some New York brand Texas Toast garlic bread stuff, and I was putting it away when I happened to see the panel w/ the expiration date and stuff on it…
It’s made in Canada!! *lol*
I found that amusing.

I went to mom’s house on Monday to get her to help me with the crochet edging of a shawl I’d just finished. I suck at crochet. I can do a single chain, and even that’s a bit wonky, but I can chain stitch all day long. I will crochet you the longest chain you’ve ever seen if you want, but I can’t go any further than that. *lol* I actually just wanted her to SHOW me how to do it, but she ended up doing the whole crocheted edging so I didn’t screw it up at the end. I did my bind off too tight, so it didn’t block out like it probably could have, but I think it’s pretty. I like it like that, so I don’t think I’m even going to fringe it like the pattern tells you to. Thanks, mom!! I need to take some better pictures, but is one just so you can see it.

Joe sent me flowers today and they are very pretty. The daisies are wilting though, so I don’t know how long the flowers will last this time around, but they sure are pretty. Thank you, baby… I love you. I’ll try to remember my camera tomorrow so I can take a picture.. or maybe it’s best that I don’t. lol. But it’s a very pretty arrangement.

An interesting meme/quiz/survey type thing. It’s been floating around blogland, and I’m finally giving in. Or maybe I”m repeating myself. I don’t remember. Open your itunes or music files or something and hit shuffle. Fill in the blanks w/ the songs that play. Don’t skip songs, just put down the 1st song that comes up for each blank!
Opening Credits:Stars (Acoustic) by Miser [Dude. ROck on!!] Waking Up:Possibilities by Teddy Geiger Falling In Love:Superhero by Collapsis Fight Scene:Rooftops and Invitations by Dashboard Confessional Breaking Up:The Diary of Jane by Breaking Benjamin Making up:Part of the Queue by Oasis (Doesn’t sound like a very good make up song. LOL) Life’s Okay:Fumbling Towards Ecstasy by Sarah McLachlan Mental Breakdown:When the Stars go Blue by Tyler Hilton & Bethany Joie Lenz (lol. shut up. I love OTH, even though I haven’t seen it in like, forever.) Driving:Don’t Wait by Dashboard Confessional Flashbacks: Creep by Stone Temple Pilots (HAHA! Awesome! It would’ve sucked if this was a “new” band! *LOL* rock on.) Happy Dance:No One by Athenaeum (not a very happy-dance song, but it makes me smile. ) Regretting:Exit to Exit [Acoustic] by Ryan Cabrera (“You wanted something more than this… fell down for someone else’s kiss..”) Final Battle:The Future Soon by Jonathan Coulton (LOL! What?!) Death Scene:Run from Thunder by MG4 (uh, not really.) Ending Credits:Of All the Gin Joints in the World by Fallout Boy
What’s your soundtrack??
