I love my Joe weekends just as much as I love my Joeless weekends.

I left work kind of early on Friday, but I didn’t really feel bad about it. I didn’t exactly ask permission, but my last conversation w/ Bossman ended with “Have a good weekend.” Having stayed til 6pm the night before, 5:45 the 2 nights before that, and having 2 hrs of OT under my belt, I didn’t feel bad about leaving 45 minutes early. I DID feel bad about leaving Joe at the airport for what amounted to about 2 and a half hours, thanks to my not being able to get off (got notice about him actually being here this weekend on Wed. night) in time to get him and traffic.

My Joe and Me
He’s not very cooperative when it comes to the camera being in his face. This is the best one I took this weekend. Aww. :)

We came home and crashed for a couple of hours, and decided about 10pm that we wanted to eat, so off we went. My only idea as to where to go for dinner was “fooooooooood. I want foooooooooooood. F-O-O-D. FOOD!!” So we went in the direction of Stonebriar Mall. It’s not too far away, but it wasn’t Chili’s, which is what I had for lunch when Teresa and I went that afternoon, and it wasn’t Friday’s which seems to be what we eat when we’ve already had Chili’s. We ended up getting there, and I turned down a street that was kinda dark and scary because I was in a turn lane and decided to go because it looked like it came out at civilization. It didn’t… it was like, a car dealership or something, so we turned around and went back to the main road. Right across the street was Applebee’s, so I made the executive decision to go there.

We had a nice dinner, even though it seemed like they were kinda trying to rush us. We ordered an appetizer, and about 2.45638 minutes after they brought the appetizer out, we had our meal. The hell? You can’t get food that fast when you want it.. lol.

So we ate, then we came home STUFFED. We came home, and I think we pretty much crashed after that. lol. :) I woke up about 7 or 8, and he slept most of the day. About 1:30 or so I went in to see if he was awake, and he woke up, but then I fell asleep. I woke up at 3 or so, and he asked if I wanted to go swimming. I did, but it was too effing hot out yesterday, and I knew even in the pool it would be suffocating, so we opted to get lunch and go to a movie.

He gave me more to go on for lunch (fast food) than he did for dinner the night before, so we went to Jack in the Crack because it was near the theater. We decided on the way TO the theater that rather than scarf lunch down, we’d go to the 5pm instead of 4pm showing of You, Me, and Dupree. So, after lunch I went to get gas, and then we went back to the movies. The movie was pretty funny. Not as bad as some of the reviews I’d read said, but not as good as I was hoping it would, or that it could, be. Still pretty funny and sweet.

After the movie, we came back home. We changed into bathing suits and went swimming. We talked about wedding stuff and future stuff, and I think we’ve finally made some sort of decision. I think. heh. Gah. Anyway, yeah, so then we got out of the pool and walked back to the apartment. We watched Matchpoint and decided again, at 10pm, that we were hungry, so we ordered pizza. We really need to eat better and have a better schedule on the weekends when he’s here. ahah :) Oh well.

It was nice, we ended up going to bed about midnight, and woke up at about 5:45 this morning so we could get some breakfast and head to the airport. I dropped him off about 7:30am or so, and I came back home. His flight was a little delayed, which worked in his favor, because the checkpoint lines were pretty long, and he ended up getting stopped for a luggage check. He would’ve made it anyway, but I would’ve been nervous. :) I knitted and watched dvds, and he finally got back to CA. :) I ended up crashing and burning this afternoon, and he’s been sleeping since I don’t know when. I called him, like promised, at 7:30 this evening, but he fell back to sleep a minute later. I tried calling him again at 8, and he did the same thing, so I’m just going to let him sleep. :)

I hope I’m not up all night tonight. *lol* :) I’m going to catch up on podcasts and knit some more.

Have a good night. :)

Mar 17

Well, I’m back.
Actually, I never really left, but I was really busy.
Joe flew in Friday, and we took Teresa & Alex & Gabby out to dinner for taking me to the airport to get him. On the way out of the airport, I handed Teresa a dollar so we could get out. She threw it back to me, but Gabby caught it & she actually CHECKED IT IN THE LIGHT to see if it was REAL!!! It was the funniest damn thing EVER. *lol* Then she decided she had to pay the Pizza Lady (We went to CiCi’s), so Teresa let her pay for dinner. ehehehh Joe beat me to the punch when it came to actually paying the cashier, so he gave her her “change” when we were leaving. It was so cute. :)

Saturday, we didn’t do much of anything. Went to a late lunch, and decided to spend the day at the hotel watching tv. We paid for the room, might as well use it, and we ended up getting room service for dinner because… why not?

Sunday, we didn’t do much during the day. About 1pm, we went to Enterprise to pick up the rental car. That took about an hour or so, and then we went to lunch. After lunch, we went out driving a little, and then we went to my mom’s to hang out and eat dinner. Joe was so cute & actually kind of fell asleep on the couch. It’s partly the spot on the couch where he was sitting (it’s like, the comfy sleep-spot), and partly the fact that he was just exhausted. We had a nice time, and then we came home.

Monday, I woke up pretty early, and he slept in. I should’ve woken him up because we were going to go look at apartments, but I just couldn’t do that to him. :) So I watched CSI & knitted & read some emails and stuff while he slept. We ended up leaving the apartment around 11 or so, maybe? Eventually, I had to wake him up. heeh He took me to Collin Creek so I could get the stupid-ass sensor off a shrug I bought there over a month ago. The sensor didn’t make the alarms at the store I bought it at go off, but it made the ones at THIS store go off. The clerk apologized, and I told her it wasn’t her store’s fault, but she took the sensor off, and away we went.

We stopped at one complex completely by accident - we were looking for the entrance of the one across the street, but turned into theirs because we couldn’t find it. It was the first apt we looked at, and we ended up deciding on that one. (My mind was made up from the beginning actually, but I sorta liked the last one we saw on Wed.) We went to lunch, then checked out a couple more before giving in to the need for a nap and went home. We ended up going out later for dinner & to see The Hills Have Eyes (Insert Movie Review Here: It sucked.), and then we went home to crash. OH! Before we went home from apt hunting, I got him to go into a Hobby Lobby. *heheh* I bought the beads I needed for a couple of projects I want to knit & handles for the purse I’m going to make next.

Tuesday, more of the same. We actually got kind of a late start again. We went out to breakfast, then to the bank so I could deposit a check. I had to stop by work and drop off the mailbox key that I forgot to give the new receptionist on Friday, so we said hi to Teresa & then went to shop for mattresses. We found a few styles we like, and one we really, really like, so Joe’s going to do some homework and price comparison on them. After JC Penney’s & Sears, we went to Ikea (for the first time!).

I’ve decided that some of the stuff at Ikea is really cool, and it’s really awesome stuff for the price, but some of that crap is …well… just that. That said, we looked at an El-Cheapo couch & will be probably getting that when we move into our new apartment. :D I also want to get my dishes from there, so I can get rid of my stupid dishes. hehe

After Ikea, we stopped at the place we were originally going Monday morning, because we found the entrance!! We looked at those, and they were okay. When we were leaving this place, we saw another complex right next to them, but they were already closed, so we decided to check them out on my lunch on Wednesday. We came back to the apartment, decided to check and see if there were any movies we wanted to see (all sucky reviews, didn’t want to chance it), and then went to dinner. After dinner, we came back and went to sleep.

Wednesday, we woke up & got ready. He took me to work, and I was early, so we went to Starbucks. He got free coffee & I ended up getting a scone & a hot chocolate (also for free, because I used a gift card - so it didn’t come out of my pocket. *lol*). He dropped me off at work, and went to his interviews. He brought me flowers and lunch (awww), but I had a couple of things to finish & then my boss came in w/ some files and stuff, so I had to wait around a minute. After my boss met him, we went to eat really fast & then we went to look at the last complex. It was nice, but the girl who was showing us apartments just… I don’t know. I didn’t like her tone or personality. We decided we actually really did like the first place we saw the best, so that’s what we’re going with. :)

I took Joe to Cold Stone Creamery on teh way back & we got big bowls of ice cream, and then he dropped me off at work. :( We spent a lot of time in the parking lot saying goodbye, and I cried a little going back to the office. He went to the airport, and now I’m playing catch up! :)

Well, I’m caught up now, but it took like two days, because I had to train the new receptionist on pregrades, and stuff…… so I’m finally where I need to be. Good time for a weekend. ;)
This weekend, I’m cleaning & throwing stuff away & doing laundry & all that fun stuff. I might be going out with my friends on Saturday, but I haven’t seen any definite yes or nos as to what we’ll do. Everyone’s pretty much saying “Count me in! Just let me know what’s going on!” lol.

I love my friends, but these last-minute ‘hey, let’s do something’s just don’t work out too well. *rofl* :) Weather permitting, I’ll be going out driving on Sunday. If not though, I’m okay with that, because I really need/want to tend to the apartment stuff. :)

I’m taking pics off my little camera, and here are the pics I have of the flowers that Joe sent me for Valentine’s Day. :) Ain’t ‘e sweet? :)

Jan 11

DUDE! The last few days have totally been all about good things happening to me. I’m so freaking grateful.

First, here are pics of the ring. The pics suck & the ring is much prettier in person, but I had to have something to show. ;)

In other good news, I just found out I’m getting promoted at the beginning of the month!! How cool is that?! :) :)

Jan 2

Okay, so I wasn’t expecting to post while I’m on my trip, but this trip has been so freaking interesting. Expect a more detailed post–I bought a notebook and some pens to write it all down on our way to Reno (we’re leaving in a couple hrs)–but here are some highlights.

+ Flight took off on time, but because of crappy weather in the Sac area, we had to stop in Phoenix to refuel.
+ Weather has been crappy - if you’ve heard about all the rain and stuff in this area, well, we’re here. But it hasn’t really effected us.
+ Stuck on I-80 for about 4 hours.
+ Dead car on I-80.
+ Missed the Jelly Belly Factory :( But we’re going to try to make that up.
+ Wind and rain and omg.
+ Two movies so far. :)

Like I said, more details later, but there you go. :)

Happy New Year! :)

Dec 20

I haven’t posted in a few days because I haven’t really known what to say. So here’s an update on what’s been going on the last few days.

Today
I took the day off work because I was going to a funeral today. April’s mom passed away last Wednesday, and this is very sad news because she was kind of like a second (or third or fourth*) mom to all of us. Even me, and I was a late joiner. She was funny and sarcastic and was NOT afraid to tell you if you were being stupid. *lol* The funeral was at 2pm, and Teresa & Alex picked me up, and we went. Dina & Stacy were there, and we all sort of leaned on each other. I started bawling at one point (I took it harder than I thought I would), and Dina hugged me, then she goes “Here, have a bunny tissue.” Well, before the service started, she showed us all her bunny tissues, and I thought it was just the packaging. Well, no. it was really tissue with a bunny on it. Not expecting it, I let out a cough/sneeze/laugh thing, and then I proceeded to laugh at myself (silently. I’m good at the silent laugh). Yeah, don’t take me to anything where you have to be “appropriate”.. that’s apparently the message I was sending. Thankfully we were right at the back, so I don’t think (I HOPE) I disturbed too many people, but it was extremely embarrassing. I like to think Pat would see the humor in it, but who knows. It was kind of just too much, I guess.

My heart goes out to April & John & the rest of April’s family, even if I didn’t really say anything - just hung on for dear life. The American Red Cross was kind enough to fly April’s sister in for the funeral (she lives in Germany where her husband is stationed) & to be with her family, so if you can spare a couple of dollars or airline miles to donate in Pat’s memory, it’s greatly appreciated by the family.

(I also got the address on my permit fixed & bought some groceries - just some milk & stuff & semi-cleaned the apartment & almost finished the last clog I have to knit. It will be done by the time I got to bed, then it just needs to be felted.)

Monday
Not much. Just work.

Sunday
Slept. Didn’t really do much of anything. I started and finished the scarf for Joe’s dad. I watched Freaks & Geeks, Party of Five, and Nick & Jessica, Season 2&3.

Saturday
Big day. Friend Christmas Party was cancelled because of all that happened, so I hung out with mom and Megan. We went to Yarn & Stitches in North Dallas. It felt like we were crashing someone’s party - we were there a few minutes before anybody even decided to look up and ask if we needed any help. We walked around a little while and then left. On the way to the Woolie Ewe, my sister said she didn’t like going to yarn stores cuz everything she wants to make needs to be knitted & she hates knitting. Well, Jill got ahold of her, and she’s officially a knitter. After that, we went to Michael’s so I could spend my birthday (yes, from October) gift card. I got Knitting On the Edge by Nicky Epstein (much better, in my opinion, than Knitting OVER the Edge), a couple balls of Sugar & Cream cotton & a yarn cutter (canNOT find mine!). After Michael’s, mom HAD to have another set of Addi Turbo Needles, so we went back to the Ewe. I didn’t get anything the first time, and I couldn’t go back TWICE and not get anything, so I bought some yarn like Megan’s to make a semi-matching belt someday after I finish Christmas knitting. She got pink & purple, and I bought purple & black. Then we went back to the house & watched Poltergeist and Nothing to Lose (it’s our family movie, despite the fact that it’s not really… family-friendly, what with the language and all. lol).

Anyway.. so that’s been my last few days.
I go back to work tomorrow, work through Friday, am off Monday for the holiday, work Tues-Friday at about 3:30-4pm, then I’m off to California until the 8th of January. :) I can’t wait. I SO need the vacation.

Everyone send yayness vibes in Joe’s direction… he’s having a very blah last few days, and I hope he gets out of it soon. :)

I’m dumping Joe*. I’ve decided.
I’m dumping Joe, and I’m going to hook up with Rolling Stone.

Do you want to know why? Of course you do. You’d love to know why I just broke up with my boyfriend on my blog before I’ve even barely talked to him today.

Rolling Stone is my new boyfriend because they just sent me a free “Preview Issue” of the November 17th issue. This issue? Has the 2nd Love Of My Life on the cover - Billie Joe Armstrong. And a 3-5 page article regarding Billie Joe & the band. I was going to search and search all over town for a copy of this issue (I can never find it when I want it, now that my subscription ran out. heeh)… but now? I DON’T HAVE TO! Because RS magically knew that I needed to have this issue!!!

I get a 3 day weekend! YAY! :) Tomorrow is Katy’s birthday (which is TOTALLY why we have tomorrow off, you know..) and Veteran’s Day, so… happy day off to me.

—–
I had something else to post, but I”ll be damned if I can remember what it is now.. hmm. Oh well.

* For those of you who just had heart attacks, I did not really dump Joe. :P

Thank you all, first of all, for the birthday comments. :D I had a great time this week, hanging out with friends/family and, of course, my Joe. :D

Joe arrived Thursday, and after work, I went and met him at the hotel. We went to Whataburger for dinner since he says they’re good and they don’t exist in CA. After dinner, we went back to my apt so I could drop off my stuff & pick up some PJs so we could spend the night at the hotel. On the way up to the apartment, we ran into this kittycat I’ve seen around the complex. I made the mistake of picking it up and petting it. It meowed that it wanted down, pretty much, so I set it down & we went upstairs. We were in there for only a few minutes, and usually the cat’s gone by then, but it waited around for us. LOL We walked the short block to the hotel from my apt, and it FOLLOWED US THE WHOLE WAY. It almost managed to get run over by a speeding truck but had the brains to get back to the side of the road. It was scary. I haven’t seen the poor thing since, though, but I kept telling Joe if I see it again, I’m keeping it because it’s completely obvious that I am MEANT to have this furry feline friend. We made it into the hotel w/o the cat following us in & we watched tv. Sadly, like.. USA was the only channel that had anything worth watching. *lol* Yes, we’re completely boring.

We slept in the next morning and woke up and went back to my apt. No kitty, but I took a shower when we got in and missed a ton of birthday phone calls, and got lots of “I know Joe’s in town, but you can at least answer the phone” messages… can’t a girl take a shower? geez ;) ehehh

We went out to lunch at El Fenix where I had a bug in my salad, and they wanted to give me a free dessert. Ew?? If I find a bug in my food, do you REALLY think I want to eat something else out of that kitchen?! On top of that, Joe ordered beef flautas & I ordered the chicken flautas, but they gave us both chicken. We should’ve mentioned that now that I think of it. *lol* But yeah, gross… the manager goes, “did you want something else?” Umm. NO?! and she’s like “maybe something sweet.. a sopapilla?” Uh, no thanks.. I’m not really hungry anymore. They comped us my food, but still. grossness. won’t be going back THERE anytime soon.

After lunch, we stopped by the Hallmark store so I could pick up some Thank You cards for my Bday Presents, and then we went to see Elizabethtown, and I was spared seeing Doom: The Movie thanks to one certain scene in Elizabethtown. After the movie, we came back to the apt and hung out for a couple hrs, and then we went to Bennigan’s for dinner, and everyone showed up! :) Jerry and Vanessa, Scott, Jenny, Teresa & Alex, Dina, April, Stacy, Gavin & Karen, me & Joe… lol. it was lots of fun :)

Jerry & Vanessa gave me a card, and Jerry was kind enough to call me an “old fart”.. lol. Teresa & Alex gave me a card with a “your present is on the way”. Jenny gave me an awesome journal & some pens. Dina gave me yarn, buttons, and a pattern book with specific instructions that I knit the iPod cozy. *g* So that’s what I will do. hehe.. Stacy, Karen, and Erik, who was MIA due to being sick, gave me a Starbucks gift card.

After dinner, Jenny took us home & came up for a little while & we had a nice little chat, but she went home, and Joe and I watched Robots annnnd.. I think we watched another movie, but I don’t remember. *LOL* OH! The Adam Sandler version of The Longest Yard. I don’t remember because I fell asleep.

We slept in again on Saturday, and we went to lunch at Chili’s where we pigged out, then went to get some razors for Joe. We got back to the apt and found out that he didn’t need to get any because he had some spares here. Oops. He bought a birthday cake for me too, and I bought some Christmas cards (THey were cute and $1.99, so I got 2 different sets).

After lunch, we hung out at my apt for a couple hrs, and then we went to my mom’s for dinner. we had yummy bbq’d chicken cooked by my stepdad, some new potato salad recipe made by my sister, and cake and ice cream which, of course, my mom made all by herself in the walmart bakery ;) *lol* jk. Very tasty stuff. We watched Infernal Affairs, which was really good. Megan was sick of waiting for Present Time, so she went, got the Lane Bryant box my present was in (I was like, what, she bought me clothes ? huh? LOL). Turns out it wasn’t clothes…but knitting stuff!! :) A really big, spiffy bag and a ton of yarn!! :D Mom ended up getting me this book I was looking at for her & a nifty little book light. :D

So, my birthday was awesome. :)
Presents received but not mentioned: A card from my aunt (yay! thank you :D), a card + bday check from my grandparents (yay! thank you :) :) ), a card + gift card to Michael’s from Joe’s aunt & dad, and Joe’s present plus some cards from other people that he forgot & left at home. :( Poor thing was so exhausted & not all there, I’m just happy he got on the plane. ;) He did get a “belated” bday card for me that I got after midnight (he rememered that one. LOL), that says it’s MY FAULT I didn’t have my birthday later, and that’s why the card is late. *LOL* :) He said it sounded like something I’d say/do, and I have to agree. ;)

Anyway..I’m off to knit & wait for Joe to call from Denver. Man, I miss him. I know it’s only a about 8 months until he’s here, but I so can’t wait! :) It it December yet?? *lol* :)
