Here’s something to do with all of those Christmas cards after the holiday is over…. ornaments for next year!
PS: I’ve forgotten how much it RULES to be the receptionist and get gifties just for doing your job. hehehe
If I don’t talk to you before then, Merry Christmas!!! We just found out that instead of being open the half-day on Christmas Eve, we’re just going to close for the day. Rock on!!

HAHA. I forgot to post this the other day, but check this out? I bought some New York brand Texas Toast garlic bread stuff, and I was putting it away when I happened to see the panel w/ the expiration date and stuff on it…
 It’s made in Canada!! *lol*
I found that amusing.

I went to mom’s house on Monday to get her to help me with the crochet edging of a shawl I’d just finished. I suck at crochet. I can do a single chain, and even that’s a bit wonky, but I can chain stitch all day long. I will crochet you the longest chain you’ve ever seen if you want, but I can’t go any further than that. *lol* I actually just wanted her to SHOW me how to do it, but she ended up doing the whole crocheted edging so I didn’t screw it up at the end. I did my bind off too tight, so it didn’t block out like it probably could have, but I think it’s pretty. I like it like that, so I don’t think I’m even going to fringe it like the pattern tells you to. Thanks, mom!! I need to take some better pictures, but is one just so you can see it.

Joe sent me flowers today and they are very pretty. The daisies are wilting though, so I don’t know how long the flowers will last this time around, but they sure are pretty. Thank you, baby… I love you. I’ll try to remember my camera tomorrow so I can take a picture.. or maybe it’s best that I don’t. lol. But it’s a very pretty arrangement.

An interesting meme/quiz/survey type thing. It’s been floating around blogland, and I’m finally giving in. Or maybe I”m repeating myself. I don’t remember. Open your itunes or music files or something and hit shuffle. Fill in the blanks w/ the songs that play. Don’t skip songs, just put down the 1st song that comes up for each blank!
Opening Credits: Stars (Acoustic) by Miser [Dude. ROck on!!]
Waking Up: Possibilities by Teddy Geiger
Falling In Love: Superhero by Collapsis
Fight Scene: Rooftops and Invitations by Dashboard Confessional
Breaking Up: The Diary of Jane by Breaking Benjamin
Making up: Part of the Queue by Oasis (Doesn’t sound like a very good make up song. LOL)
Life’s Okay: Fumbling Towards Ecstasy by Sarah McLachlan
Mental Breakdown: When the Stars go Blue by Tyler Hilton & Bethany Joie Lenz (lol. shut up. I love OTH, even though I haven’t seen it in like, forever.)
Driving: Don’t Wait by Dashboard Confessional
Flashbacks: Creep by Stone Temple Pilots (HAHA! Awesome! It would’ve sucked if this was a “new” band! *LOL* rock on.)
Happy Dance: No One by Athenaeum (not a very happy-dance song, but it makes me smile. :D)
Regretting: Exit to Exit [Acoustic] by Ryan Cabrera (”You wanted something more than this… fell down for someone else’s kiss..”)
Final Battle: The Future Soon by Jonathan Coulton (LOL! What?!)
Death Scene: Run from Thunder by MG4 (uh, not really.)
Ending Credits: Of All the Gin Joints in the World by Fallout Boy
What’s your soundtrack??

I think that’s all I’ve got right now.
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!!!!!!

Well, today was a good day. My boss snuck in and snuck back out while I was at lunch, so I made him come up again … haha. He liked his card and his cake and kept talking about how nice it was and all that stuff, so it was pretty cool. He hung out for a minute and told a few funny stories, and he laughed at my card, which was pretty damn funny too…. so it was all good.
I love birthdays… lol
My poor Joe.. he’s so exhausted. he’s hanging out on the east coast this week for work and by the time he got to the hotel last night, it was 11 their time (about 8 his time), and he woke up really early, so he only got a few hrs sleep…and I guess he worked all day today (like 12 hrs), plus they all took everyone out for dinner. he managed to listen to my story of the day, but he’s so exhausted. the only thing i love about when he’s really tired is he gets all sleepy and cuddly, and even when he’s far away, i can still tell that. i love cuddling with him when he’s all sleepy and stuff. man, i miss him. lol
i’ll get to see him this weekend though, so that’ll be fun.
i dyed some yarn today!! i used some burgundy cake-dye that i got at Michael’s, and it turned out hot pink. it’s AWESOME. one of the things on my bday wish list is going to be some undyed yarn, so i can dye up some more. maybe i’ll hand paint some stuff… ohh the possibilities.

I’m surprised I’m still awake. This weekend has been SO LONG, but so much has happened. I can’t believe I’ve only been off two days. *heh*
My weekend, obviously, started Friday after work. Alex picked Teresa and I up from work, and we went to get Gabby at daycare. We dropped the two of them off at home, and Teresa and I made our way to the Relay for Life. Was pretty good… we walked more than anyone in our group. *lol* We ended up crashing at her place so we could get some sleep before the hockey game.
Can I just tell you that I effing love playoff hockey????
And how sad I am that it took me until 1999 to realize how freaking great this sport is?!?!
Teresa’s Bossman got her tickets as a “Thanks for being an awesome assistant” present, and she was kind enough to take me, even though my team is like, one of her least favorite. (I think Dallas rates above Phoenix, but I could be wrong… ask her. hahah) Game one of the Western Conference QuarterFinals… Dallas Stars vs. Colorado Avalanche. HELL YEAH.
It was GREAT! Even though my team lost… but I figure I can give her that one game, y’know? I mean, HER boss bought HER the tickets, so HER team should win, right? As long as Dallas wins the rest. What we’re HOPING is that my boss loves me enough to hook us up with like, let’s say… Game 7 tickets. *hahah* (Yeah right, but two girls can dream, right?)
But yeah, it was SO freaking cool.
After the game ($&^#(*% 5-2 loss for Dallas. FIVE TO FREAKING TWO! What the hell is that?!), we hopped on the train and went back to get Alex and Gabby so we could go to Teresa’s belated birthday party. The original plan was to go see Edgewater, but then we ended up going out bowling. It was pretty fun. We bowled two games, and it took about 2.5 hrs. haha. Gabby got to play, and it took 5-10 minutes for the ball to get down to the end of the lane and think about knocking over some pins everytime it was her turn. It was so cute though. *lol* At least we got our money’s worth, I guess. It’s expensive to go on the weekends. *lol*
After that, we all said our goodbyes. Teresa, Gabby & Alex ended up going home, and Stacy & Erik went home or went to do their own thing, and April, John, Dina and I ended up going to IHOP. It was pretty cool. :)
I had a great time… I love my friends.
Today I didn’t do anything. I didn’t get any groceries, and I didn’t do any laundry, and I didn’t clean anything at all. I need to get boxes so I can start packing stuff up.
Well, I guess I did SOMETHING. I watched about 11 hours of movies today. Well, sorta movies. I watched Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel, and I cried like a baby a couple of different times. I also watched CSI, and Alias. Yay While I was completely productive and doing that, I finished the TX square I was knitting on, and I managed to get to the foot part on the sock I’m working on. I have probably 4-5 more inches to go on the foot before I start the toe decreases, and then they’re done.
I also need to work frantically on April’s baby shower gift. HA. It’s a good thing I have a lot of travel time during the week. *g*
What else? I guess that’s it. I talked to Joe for a little bit on his way home from HIS exhausting weekend, but he was so tired he ended up ditching me once he got home to go to sleep. That’s okay though, because he sounded reeeeeally tired.
This week at work should hopefully be fairly uneventful. It’s the end of the month, which equates a pretty slow week for me, while it’s kinda busy for the other side of our “team.” I think I’m supposed to go sit in U/W and get lessons, but I don’t know if they’ll want me to go during end-of-month time. I might just get in the way, so I’ll have to discuss it with Bossman while I’m giving him a hard time tomorrow.
I have to say that I really, really love my job. I know it seems like everytime I post, I’m gushing about Bossman, but it really is amazing to me how much I adore the guy I work for & the stuff I have to do. I mean, ok.. maybe I don’t adore the work, but I enjoy my time while I’m there. That makes me REALLY happy. I love that I can wake up in the morning, and while I might not always be like “YAY! LET’S GO TO WORK! WHEE!!” right away, it’s nice to not DREAD going in for a change. I *hated* going to work when I was at Albertson’s, and I tried to think up all kinds of ways to call in, or ways to just.. walk out and never go back. I don’t have that at this place, and that’s really nice.

ETA: I Don’t know why this stupid thing is not saving my corrections. Pics are at the knit blog or on flickr.
The Olympics were kind of “eh” this year, aside from the figure skating. Man, I love me some figure skating. The snowboard cross was kind of cool to watch, too, but for the most part, I didn’t really care about this Olympics.
Well, aside from the fact that I joined the Knitting Olympics. Let me tell you, dear reader … I am an Olympic Medalist!
I finished the sweater (yes. SWEATER!) in two weeks. The night of the Olympics, I ended up going out to the movies w/ Teresa & Fam, and I didn’t really start on it until the Saturday morning. There was also one day during this Olympic run that I didn’t knit one single stitch. So, I was kind of scared I might not finish, but I did!
Here’s an icky picture of me wearing it:
The mirror’s dirty, so ignore that. Other than the fact that the front is a *little* too short for my liking, I love this sweater. The shortness’ll go away as the pounds do, so it’ll be fine. It’s so warm and soft, so I know I won’t get to wear it much before next winter, but I’m going to enjoy it while I can.
I’ll get TC to take a picture for me tomorrow so I can get a decent pic, instead of the “in the mirror” shot.
Now I don’t know what to knit! I have 2-3 projects for OTHER PEOPLE to finish, and about 3-4 on top of that, plus all the new ones I want to start. Ahh! There isn’t enough tiiiiime!

well, i originally intended to skip out on half a day at work tomorrow to go to the dmv to renew my id & snag another learner’s permit thingy so i can practice driving someway, somehow. after thinking about it, though - i’m covering someone’s desk tomorrow, and i didn’t really let anyone know that i’m going to be late.. so i decided i’ll go in on time tomorrow. i’ll let the appropriate people know that i’ll be late on tuesday (i’m not covering anyone, and the boss is out of town, therefore i’ll probably just be sitting & knitting anyway), and then i won’t look (or feel) like a gigantic ass. if everything goes smoothly/on time, i know i wont get up to work until 11 or 12, and if the person i’m covering for has files.. or tons of pregrades from over the weekend, then they’ll be screwed, and that won’t look very good on me. especially since i just received a stellar review (all 4s! 5 is perfect, and i believe i’m too new to get perfect scores. besides that, i know i haven’t been perfect. lol) indicating that i take care of the ae’s needs & am friendly and very customer-/team-oriented.
so instead, i will take tomorrow (if i’m slow, which i probably will be now that i’m making sure i’m there) to review the manual some more. and knit, of course. (i’m almost done w/ another project, which will take me to 6 projects i still need to finish before christmas)

long time no post, kind of.
i wish I had stuff to post about, but I really don’t.
i’m sorry for that. not that i think anybody keeps checking to see if i’ve posted (ok, maybe tc.. ), but still.
um, what’s going on?
not much. my birthday is in *counts* 13 days. my boyfriend will be here in 12 days. so far it looks like i’m getting quite a few people at my birthday party. i feel kind of bad, though, because there are a couple things going on next weekend, and i don’t know yet if i can go to either one of them. :/ (fair warning to those of you who are throwing things.)
i’ve started organizing the knitting stuff. really, the only thing worth posting about is the knitting, adn that all goes on on the knitting site. lots of yarn and books have been coming in. i’m knitting up a storm on an afghan that seems like it’ll never be done & a mysterious project for my LSSK group & just all kinds of things.
i’ve been watching movies today like nobody’s business. and i need to clean. i need to take the trash out and at least do a load of laundry. i’ve started moving the knitting books off my bookshelf in the living room & storing them in my closet. I have more “book shelf” space in there, and then it’s not cluttering up the living room. not that *I* mind when I’m here–easier access, but i’m not sure my impending guest will have the same philosophy. in fact, i’m certain he wont.
some mini-movie reviews:
Mr. 3000: Okay. Not the greatest movie ever, but entertaining.
King Arthur: Suck.
The OC: Man I love this show. If I ever remember that it’s on Fox on Thursday, I might actually watch it on tv instead of on DVD.
Time to start cleaning and stuff. Yay fun.

So here I am at approximately 1:30am listening to everything I have in iTunes currently on shuffle (Currently: STP - Wicked Garden) and cleaning. Well, I started cleaning anyway. Until I tackled the yarn boxes to make them a bit more organized. It looks like I’m going to do a small amount of destashing. I have some things that I think my friend Teresa might like now that she’s knitting again (muhaha. I’ve rubbed off on her now that I see her almost everyday. That and she’s completed a couple projects), so I’m going to give her first dibs then either post on KP or ebay them. We’ll see.
(Currently playing: Green Day - Walking Contradiction) Speaking of this song, they didn’t play it at my concert. Joe’s supposed to be calling me when his concert’s done/when he gets home, but I don’t know if he’ll actually call. He’ll promise to call, but if it’s after a time he thinks is too late, he won’t. Or he will, I’ll sleep through it, and he’ll whisper into the voicemail like he’s afraid he’s going to wake me up. LOL
(Currently playing: Green Day - Church on Sunday. LOVE THIS SONG)
I finished a Lacy Round washcloth, and I started another plain one. I’m 3 away from my 10 that I intend to send to Cloths for Katrina. I also knitted a bunch more on Misty Garden.
My hermit weekend was slightly interrupted. I found out I was out of TP (thought I still had at least 1 roll), so I had to run to the store, so I walked up to Walgreens & got TP and paper towel (out of that too, and I was out, so why not?) and a couple other things I probably didn’t really need…and a report cover thing for one of my SP6 presents.
As for movie watching, so far I have watched The OC: Season 2, disc 3 and Guess Who?. Guess Who was really cute. BTW - Bernie Mac is a leftie, so I officially like him more than I did before.
What else can I ramble about? I dunno. But I know I’m getting kinda tired. I have two more yarn boxes to go through (managed to organize one this morning and two tonight), and I found a couple circs to add to my needle binder.
I didn’t do any laundry tonight, so I have to do some of that tomorrow. I also need to finish cleaning up the living room, and then I’ll be happy. Oh, and watch the rest of my movies (A Home at the End of the World, Hostage, and Suspect Zero).
We didn’t get any rain from Rita. I’m disappointed. :/ But we got lots of wind and some clouds. Better than nothing, I guess. My friend Damian lives in Beaumont, as well as a couple people on my knitting list. I know the knitters made it out, so I hope he and his family made it out all safe and sound.
Anyway.. nightnight time.

it’s all about randomization here at hello, lovely today.
i didn’t go to my mom’s today because i intended to go grocery shopping and do oodles of laundry and bake and clean and organize my yarn. well, i went grocery shopping. and i cleaned a few sections of the livingroom, so i can’t say i didn’t accomplish anything. i also finished a scarf tonight, and started another Christmas present tonight. i also ordered tc’s present. i had what i needed for her, but i have 4-5 projects to knit for her, even if she doesn’t know it. but i was searching around, and i found this other thing that SHE HAS TO HAVE NO MATTER WHAT. so i ordered that along with a present for my secret pal and a present for me. well, not really for me. it’s a basic sock pattern thing that i think might be good for my lorna’s laces yarn. i only have enough for 3 pairs, with about $300 worth on one of my wishlists of more colors I eventually want to get and knit for myself and other people. lol.
for those of you who are or are not aware of my upcoming birthday (october 28th, dear friends of mine!), i’ve posted wishlists on the sidebar. these are mostly for myself and for Teresa because she asked what I wanted. i don’t really want anything since Joe’s visiting, and he’s all I’ve wanted to have on a birthday since we got together, so anything else is just a bonus. the lists are also posted for curious passers-by. i love looking at other people’s wishlists.. so in case there’s another person out there like me, well, there you go.
let’s see? what else? oh, go check out Morgan Clamp. he messaged me on MySpace a few days ago, and I went to listen to his stuff. it’s pretty good. at least, i think so. you can download his songs on itunes or order his cd from his website, but it’s good stuff. i recommend it.
oh, in regards to my last post - things are good with joe. he put the phone down so i could write my email and pretty much fell asleep. his phone was on silent so he didn’t notice it when it rang. lol. oh well.
oh. also, in case you didn’t notice. new layout. this is called Red Train, and I got it from the Wordpress Theme Browser (i think it’s on alexking.org somewhere. do a google search for Wordpress Themes and it’s one of the top ones, if not the #1 result.). I lurve it. I downloaded a bunch of them from there (the last theme was there too) lately. they’re pretty neat. cuz i’m too lazy to figure out how to work the darn thing myself.
i was going to do tc’s site to, since i was in the mood not to accomplish any of the things i need to do, but the links she sent me to templates and layouts are at work. :/ cuz that’s where she emailed me & i never forarded them on. suck.
okok, that’s it. I’m going to go back to knitting and talking to Joe.
g’night!

so i was waiting for the bus this morning & there’s a lady who’s there everyday just like me.
she came up to me and goes “did you lose a book the other day?” and i’m like “yes!”
and she’s like “i have it for you.”
and i was like “really!?!? thank you so much!!!!”
so i got to finish my book today, and now i can start another one.
I also finished a washcloth, cuz, well, i can. i need to weave in the ends because i came to work without any tools.. just 3-4 of my projects + Scarf Style, because two of the projects I brought with me were from tha tbook. yay!
