Unfortunately due to travel and family events, I missed the October 2008 challenge, which was PIZZA! Yum! I hope to eventually try that recipe out, but it just didn’t happen in October. I love birthdays, but especially my own. Cold from hell or not, this day is going to RULE.

If Joe gets his ass out of bed, we’ll be having lunch with my sister, then going to Hobby Lobby and the Woolie Ewe, then going to dinner with my friends, and then I’ll come back to drop Joe off & go knitting!!

I am so excited!

How did the first day go???

OMG, I totally am hating it here right now. What I thought was just kitty allergies has morphed into this stupid ass cold thing, and I am DYING.

So far, I’ve seen my parents and my sister a couple of times, and Teresa, Alex, Gabby, April and John. I am hopefully seeing Stacy and Jenny tomorrow.

Ugh… colds definitely suck. I hope it’s just that I’m allergic to Texas and I’m 100% better when I get to Cali. LOL.

Tomorrow, I am going yarn shopping & and hang out with some knitters after dinner tomorrow. Should be fun! Wednesday morning, we leave. We’ve had issues with our rental car, so I’m going to sic Joe on them, and hopefully we’ll get a free rental out of it. Add that to the fact that we still have a few Marriott points, and Joe says if they give people the option to bump flights, we totally SHOULD if they give us the option for a free flight, because, hello - another vacation!

Anyway.. feeling like crap. I am going to go lie down. ANd charge my phone… because I don’t charge it enough and it keeps dying (totally my fault. lol).

** We also visited the new kick ass Walmart on NW Hwy & Saturn, and you know what I found there? A WII FIT!! OMG, I bought it (Joe was going to, but he said if he bought it, then I’d have to give up my real birthday present. I found out what my real present was, and i’m like.. no way, i’m buying it. So I got a Wii Fit AND I get to go to a hockey game. LOL YAY!), and we shipped it, plus some clothes back to CA. I can’t find any flannel pj pants at any of the Walmarts I’ve been to in CA, so I have to stock up when I come to down apparently. LOL.

… snore …

I’m in Denver right now wishing I could go hang out with Dina.
I have gotten about an hour, maybe an hour and a half of sleep since I woke upat 7am yesterday. Needless to say, I am exhausted.

Joe and I were at the store today after work. We bought NyQuil because he’s been a little sick, and I got myself some Drumsticks because they sounded tasty. We went to self check-out because there was no line there, and DUDE. You guys, I got CARDED. FOR BUYING NYQUIL.

I didn’t even know what was happening!! The guy came up to the register, and I just showed him what I was buying, and I thought I heard him say something about me not looking that old, and then I’m like, so what do I need to do? And he goes “Oh, that’s for me.” So I’m looking at him like “okay, so do something about it.” and he goes, “it’s for 30 or older.” And then it clicked that hello, show him your driver’s license. HE COULD HAVE SAID, “Can I please see your ID?” The screen doesn’t say “SHOW THE CASHIER YOUR ID.” It says “APPROVAL NEEDED.”

Honestly, typing this up is sort of pissing me off. I don’t care that I got carded. The guy’s just doing his job by checking IDs (since when did you need an ID to buy NyQuil? lol). Been there, done that, but at least say “HEY, Can I see your ID, please?” Don’t sidle up to the register all creepy-like and stand there like an IDIOT and hover until I realize that I need to READ YOUR MIND to figure out what the hell you want. I SO want to talk to somebody’s manager now, even though I know it won’t make a difference (because, ha, I worked in a grocery store. I know how it works!).

I do not want to go to work today.
