Well, if I’m lucky & I hear from the charity I picked, it looks like I will be participating in the Blogathon this year. I’m pretty excited about it because I’ve been wanting to participate since I first heard about it, but with the schedule I worked & the difficulty I used to have getting weekend days off, it just wasn’t feasible. Now?! It is! :) Yay weekends off.

Anyway, more information later, if I get what I need. :) I could pick another charity, but I really want this one.

I’m still playing around with the layout - i have to fix the links at the top, and insert my “witty tagline” and all that fun stuff. i just wanted something different & i wanted to see if it would work.

it does, but it was late when i did it, so tweaking will come later. maybe this weekend, maybe not. i’m going to my mom’s, and that usually translates into movie + knitting time. we’ll see. :)

have a good weekend! :D

- my library card expired today.
- i owe the library a ginormous fine because one of my books didn’t renew like it SHOULD HAVE & i took it back 3 weeks late. plus the other 11 books i had in my possession were returned 2 days late, except one, which I still have because I’m still reading it.
- my apartment is a mess. (not so random. you already knew that, didn’t you?)
- i’m itchy to start knitting everything in sight, but i know I can’t.
- i’m itchy to buy more yarn so i can start on my christmas knitting. this is part of the reason I want to knit everything in sight.
- tomorrow is friday. i’m extremely ecstatic about that.
- i finished Harry Potter yesterday morning, and I was right on both accounts.
- my bookshelf has a lot of books. one day i’m going to organize, or at least list them, and post them so i can keep track of reading them. :)
- i love Joe, and I really wish it was September 2nd, because at this exact moment on that day, i’ll be on an airplane waiting for take-off, so i can go visit him for what will be the best weekend ever.

Prayers, vibes, and just general good thoughts are being sent in Katy, Dina, and Victor’s general direction (as well as the rest of her family). Katy’s in surgery today, and I know that Dina & Vic have been having a tough time of it lately. Soo
… if you can, take a second out of your day and think happy thoughts for this cute little family. :)

*hugs*, you guys!!

I’m trying out this email posting thing. We’ll see how it works.

I’m just a little over halfway through the book. I just started Chapter 18 or 19. it’s pretty good.  Amazon.com got back to me, and I’ll be getting a refund of the cost of the book (so pretty much, all I paid was $4 shipping).. so I pretty much got two HP books for $20. Well, two once I can finally get to the apartment office & pick up my pkg. Apparently I have another one up there. what the hell? how many pieces of mail do I have?? lol :)

After I finish reading Harry Potter, I’m going to finish Incubus Dreams (talk about a change of pace), and then I’m going to tackle my bookshelf. I have so many books on my bookshelf, and I haven’t even read most of them.. (some of them, yes, but maybe 5% of what’s up there. maybe)

HARRY POTTER PREDICTIONS

(these are in no way intended to be spoilers.. I haven’t read far enough to find out anything definite. these are based off my own ideas of who is who)
HALF-BLOOD PRINCE: I’m not sure, but they have to be good in potions, obviously. RIght now, I’m leaning towards Snape or Dumbledore? Depending on when they were a student.
THE PERSON WHO DIES: most people have heard that someone dies in this book. I don’t know who it is, but I’ve been told to brace myself for it. Greeeat.
(let’s hope this works! lol)

SO…
I never recieved my copy. Joe seems to think the pkg at the office might be it, and if it is, I’m seriously pissed off, because the mailman never came to my door. I was here ALL. DAY. YESTERDAY. waiting. I got the note at 4:30 and went up to the office AND NO ONE WAS THERE. So I have to wait until NEXT WEEKEND to get it because my schedule doesn’t allow me to get pkgs, cuz I work the same exact hours as the office.

My trash can broke this morning. It’s been cracked since I moved, and well, now the bottom’s broken, so I had to get a new trash can…. so erm, I picked up a copy of the book at Walmart. I emailed amazon.com last night, I”m just waiting to hear something.

So I have a copy of the book now. Happy, happy, joy, joy!
I’m also going to the library this afternoon because the one downtown is open for a few hours today, so I’m going to drop my books off (except Incubus Dreams because I’m in the middle of it, and I know TC’s holding it, and I’m afraid if I ask to renew it, they won’t let me… so I’m going to return it when I finish reading it & just pay the extra fine for it. lol) and then go to Barnes & Noble to look for the knitting magazines I’m looking for…

And then I’m going to come home.
Well, I might eat lunch or something first.
But then I’m going to come home.
And knit. Or read. Or talk to Joe. I haven’t decided. Depends partly on what his plans are. heeh :)

SO yeah.. that’s what’s going on. :)

I went to my mail box to check the mail, and I had a notice that I have a pkg up at the office. The stupid mailman didn’t even bother coming to see if I was here. hello? I went up to the office, because at the time, they should’ve been open for another 30 minutes, and guess what? THEY ARE CLOSED ALREADY!
So.. I have to wait until NEXT weekend to pick that up.

And the UPS man sucks - my book’s still not here.
It probably won’t be here until whenever.. but they’ll leave it at the office and I WILL NEVER GET IT.

Maybe I’ll ask Jenny to stop by a bookstore or something on our way out to pick it up. LOL :) i wanna read it!! :(

back to knitting to calm my nerves (haha)..

I’m very patiently (read: impatiently) waiting for the nice UPS man to DELIVER MY BOOK! I want my copy of Harry Potter & THe Half-Blood Prince! right now! nownownow!

Everytime a car or truck drives past my apartment, I get all excited, and then NOTHING!
I can already tell you I’m going to be one of those people at 7pm who are going to have to contact customer service at Amazon.com and be like WHERE IS MY BOOK!?!? I ordered it July 5th, so I ordered in plenty of time to receive it guaranteed today. I want it. :(

I’ve already cleared a spot on my bookshelf for it when I’m done reading it. :(

Right now I’m watching A Very Long Engagement. It just started, but I think I might turn it off so I can read the library bok i’m going to need to take back later. I’ll have to find out when the library’s open late, or where the drop is so I can drop them sometime this week. Because they’re LATE. latelatelate. Like my Harry Potter book.

HI, all….
it’s me.. your disappearing hostess, Manda.

I’m serious.. I swear you’ll forget my name.

I haven’t been posting much because the only time I think of stuff to post is at work, and, well, I have a pretty strict rule against posting from work. Well, that, and I’ve been way, way, way, way too busy this week to even attempt it. After work, I end up talking to Joe most of the way home, or starting when I walk in the door, and then I don’t really get to post because I’m busy talking to him. Hmm.. I forgot that I can post to here through email though. Maybe I’ll have to start doing that & editing them when I get home.

SO yeah, that’s why I’ve been dead.
I’ll post more when he goes back to school or something. *lol*

I do have a ton to post about, even though I can’t think of a thing right now - but I know there’s a lot.

Most importantly, I’m taking a trip in the near future to see Joe! :) It’s an unplanned trip, but one I’m happy to be able to make. :) It’ll only be for a weekend, so I won’t be there too long, but it’ll be something. :) It was kind of a surprise because I brought it up while he was half asleep, and he thought he dreamed it until he checked his email. *rofl* :)

I’ve been having a craptastic movie selection from Netflix lately, which is my own fault.. but I just haven’t been happy with much of what I’ve been getting. It’s disappointing, because I’ve been excited to see the last few movies from my list, but have sent them back nearly unwatched because I was just like… I really don’t want to watch this right now. My television series rentals are the only things that have saved the day.. right now I’m on the 1st season of Charmed. I don’t know why I didn’t watch that show when it first started. :) Ohh, I think it was because I pretty much worked every single Sunday & missed it by the time I got home. Maybe that was it. I’m getting Million Dollar Baby, A Very Long Engagement, and Charmed, Season 1, Disc 3 this week/end, so maybe these will have some redeaming qualities. If I can get through them.

I ordered some yarn off ebay about three weeks ago and never received it.. but I found out that the buyer didn’t put my complete address on it, and they just got around to returning it to her. LOL :) She said she’s shipping it priority, so I should get it tomorrow or Saturday. that’s awesome. :) I’m very excited about this. :D Not that I have any idea what I’m going to do with it, but it’s pink (bubblegum) cotton ease to add to my stash of almost every other color (that I could find). :)

I’m knitting on a bunch of projects, for those of you who don’t read my knitting blog. Lots of washcloths, the Charlotte’s web shawl, and a couple other things for charity items. I started my Christmas knitting list, and I’ve completed one item already. I have 25 people, not including coworkers, that I want to knit for. I’ve decided that I”m just going to knit a whole bunch of washcloths in different colors, then pick out two or three for each person so I can give them as a set. :) They’re easy, I can get about 2 out of a ball of yarn, and they take almost NO time.

I’m getting Harry Potter on Saturday!! :) I’m so excited. I hope it comes with the regular mail - I got an email from Amazon.com that says to give them until 7pm before we start calling customer service. I hope I’m not one of those people who needs to wait until 7. LOL :) I’m planning my day around getting the mail, because I know they won’t leave it, and I really don’t want to have to sit here all day and not do anything or get anything done because they don’t show up until 7pm. :( I have library books to take back and a fine to pay because they didn’t renew a book i thought renewed & it’s a big mess that’s all my fault, but considering the amount of books i have out, the fine isn’t that much. LOL :)

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnyway… I’ve rambled on far too long, but I think I’ve caught you up.
My apartment’s a mess. I suppose I could *clean* while I wait for Harry Potter to get here. :D eheheh
