I just have to say that I love Logan from Gilmore Girls. I hope he doesn’t turn into a Supremo Jerk or something happens that he and Rory break up. :D

In other, non-television-related news, I forgot to post a picture earlier…

I got a hair cut! And depending on the day I either love it or hate it. Today? I love it. Tomorrow? Who knows.

FRONT:
my new hair cut!
Sorry, you can’t see it very well. I’m on the phone with Joe. :D

BACK:
My new haircut - back view
Better view. It’s too short in the back. :( But that’s okay.

oh! I forgot to post yesterday. I’ve lost like 3 pounds. :) Slowly but surely it’s coming off. If I could keep from indulging in the 1,000+ calorie Sweet & Sour Chicken and the pizza I ordered last week, I’d probably be doing alright. *grin* :)

Almost went for McDonald’s today, but I got a Caesar salad instead. I wonder which one did more damage. Oh well. :)

Surprise Payday!

I love surprise payday! Unfortunately, I won’t really be getting those anymore.

I went to the ATM so I could get some cash for lunch (forgot my lunch & the little cafe only takes cash), and I checked my balance thinking there’s like $300 in there (well, $200 + the alloted $100 for utilities), but there was a bunch more than that!

A happy surprise, and while I know I need to save it, I also need to buy clothes, so I might be going shopping this weekend. Hmmm.. :)

We’ll see.
Anyway, back to work. I’m in prequal hell. :)

I really wish my Albertsons W2 would show up.
I started an e-file using the current job’s W-2, and I’m getting a bunch of money, but yeah. I’d like to just get it finished, so I can await my cash. :D

The store didn’t get mine, she said it’s being mailed to me but unfortunately they SUCK with stuff, and I can almost bet you I’ll have to call someone and say “GIVE ME MY PAPERWORK!” :)

Okay, I wasn’t going to post this one… I just wanted to see what it said, but it kind of fit, so here you go.

(PS: I’ve come to the conclusion that I have way a lot of yarn. heh. I’m probably going to be ebaying or selling some on the knit-site soon, so if you’re interested, keep an eye out for it.

Anne With an E

I just finished reading Anne of Green Gables. Man, that was a great story. I’ve seen the movie countless times thanks to PBS pledging every weekend and showing it all the time when I was younger, but I’ve never read the book. Teresa gave me a copy of it for Christmas after finding out that I hadn’t read it. It took a while, but with all the knitting and crap I’ve been doing lately, I just haven’t been reading as much as I used to.

Anyway, it was a lovely story, and I have to admit I have a crush on Gilbert Blythe (as the movie version), and I’m sorry he wasn’t in the book more. That’s okay, there are many more books to go.

Next up on the reading list, however, is the newest installment of the “In Death” series by Nora Roberts as JD Robb. I just got it from the book club where I pre-ordered it, and I can’t wait to start it.

One of the things I want to start doing this year is an idea I jacked from Chris over at Rude Cactus (he also reviews books and cds at his new review site. He keeps track of all the books he’s read in a journal or notebook, and I’m going to start doing that, since this is my first finished book of the year. :)

Thinking Out Loud
icon1 Manda | icon2 Wedding Bells | icon4 01 26th, 2006| icon35 Comments »

Okay, so I don’t know if this is really happening or not, but the more wedding plans are discussed, the more I shut down. DISCLAIMER: DO NOT PANIC ! I DON’T KNOW IF THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING! I’M JUST THINKING OUT LOUD! *ahem*

I think we’re going to have a Vegas wedding. It sounds fun and cheesy, just like we are. And I really can’t deal with the hassle of planning a wedding with the amount of money we have. We have a certain amount and want to squeeze as much as possible out of it, and this doesn’t leave much for wedding expenses. Like, oh, say, a $600 wedding gown, and flowers, and food for 100 people and decorations and finding a place and OHMYGOD! I just.. I can’t.

I’d rather spend the money on us having a blast. Like, in Hawaii. And I really want to go to Vegas. *lol* :) Joe was very Anti-Vegas when I first brought it up, but now he’s done a 180, and I’m the one dragging my feet on it now. I know I’d really LIKE to have the dream wedding - the pretty dress, lovely bouquets, silver and purple and black all around, but I don’t want to PLAN it. I don’t want to PAY the kind of money that is spent on weddings for one day of “yay, we’re married!” I’d rather have a kick ass vacation.

Here’s the plan we’ve been going over:
+ Vegas Wedding & mini-vacation (spend a night or two there)
+ Come back to Dallas & have a party. I’m thinking having a potluck kind of picnic thing. It’s laid back and it sounds like fun. We’ll bring stuff for burgers and hotdogs and stuff, everyone else brings a side dish or a dessert (and, y’know, a present. *grin* ehhehe), and everyone has fun. This is also good for all the kids that could show up - they can play in the park & have fun, and if they get dirty or spill something, it’s not as big of a catastrophe :D
+ Go to CA & have a party picnic thing there, too. This way, no one feels left out or spend a bunch of money on airfare if they can’t afford it.
+ Go to Hawaii for a freaking awesome vacation. :D
I’m thinking about doing my own invitations w/ RSVP cards that have like, check boxes for which date they can attend or both or neither.

Like I said, I’m just thinking out loud. We’ll see what all happens. There’s a lot of time to figure this stuff out. I just had to get it out. *lol*

And I’m scared to tell people in person. ;)

well, I”m right here.
So a week ago, Joe and I decided we were going to lose weight. No definite poundage to be lost - we just have to lose it. the prize? Having our Honeymoon in Hawaii.

So far, Joe’s beating me.

Daily Goals:
+ No less than (3) 16.9 fl. oz. bottles of water
+ 50 sit ups daily
+ do my WATP tape 3 times a week
+ no french fries
.. .i’m sure there are other things, but that’s all I remember. :)

I joined SparkPeople (referral name: hellolovley), so I can keep track of weight loss, activities, and food. It’s pretty cool. You get points and I don’t really know what the points are for, but points are cool. :)

Anyway, just saying hi. :) I’m still alive! :D
