What Your Face Says |

Today’s been a long day, but that’s partly my own fault. I managed. I got her cake & she was surprised, and yay! Then I went to work, and worked. Tomorrow I have a stupid meeting in the morning. It’s kinda pointless for us sales assistants… it’s highlights from the big conference the Sales Guys had to go to a couple months ago, and the assistants and everyone else in the office get a play-by-play when the AEs come back home anyway. And it’s right in the middle of our file-preparing time. Good thing I didn’t have anything left over from today. I managed to get all my files in, so that’s good. But still. I’d rather be at work, working, than watching a stupid video of a guy painting or whatever they decided to do this year. It’s kind of hilarious though - we have to be to work earlier than normal, and I get to sleep in, because one of the guys, who goes past my apt in the morning, is going to stop by and pick me up for it. heeh Then tomorrow I get to cut out a little bit of the day to go hang out at the other office to get some U/W training.. so I know what the hell I’m doing. I mean, I know what I’m doing, but my training on subbing files consists of the quick training I got from TC when I first started. I know what to look for and to make sure it’s IN the file, but I don’t know what to look for to see what will kill the file or just what little secrets to look for that might slow the process or things I can do to help speed it up. Yay, work.

Today’s been a weirdass day. It was slow all day up until about noon, and then I had lunch in between. My phone rang off the hook, and I have some phone calls to return in the morning. I had another funny time w/ my boss and our acct manager today. I really love the hell out of those guys. We had an email going back and forth about a file, and AcctMgrGuy had a really good idea about something we could do w/ the file. BossMan said something about how it was a great guy, and AMG ended up coming back with “Help me help you” and “Show me the money!” So I was like, “Okay, so does this mean you complete him?” and BossMan comes back w/ “You had me at hello!” lol.. I dunno. Blah. I hope tomorrow’s better. My goal tomorrow is to get through the day without one fax coming back Send Failed and to not get yelled at by a broker. *lol* So I finally got some laundry done, and decided to watch my last Netflix movie of the weekend: An Unfinished Life. It was one that I’d put in my queue & didn’t realize I had so close to the top (you know how the new releases go pretty fast). I read the description on the disc envelope, and was kinda like “I don’t really think I’m in the mood to see anything like this.” but it was a really great movie. No special effects, just a great story, beautiful scenery If you get the chance to see it, I highly recommend it. It’s probably one of the best movies I’ve seen in a really long time (there’s so much crap out there), and everyone in the movie (Robert Redford, Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Lopez, and the girl who played her daughter) really show off their talent. Yes, even Jennifer Lopez… I know she has her faults, but some of her movies are pretty good. — This morning, Joe offered me the choice between four different places where we can take our sorta-vacation. We’re only going to have a couple of days there, but I get to pick between Disneyland, Universal Studios, Yosemite National Park, or Yellowstone National Park. I was kinda leaning towards the national parks… it’s not every day I get to see the beautiful country we live in, and I think I’d get more out of the vacation than going to DisneyLand or Universal Studios and having a craptastic time of Joe trying to get me on rides I don’t want to go on (except the spinny teacups. I really want to ride in the spinny teacups. lol). He’s wanted to take me to Yosemite for a while, but after seeing the movie, I think I’m kinda leaning towards Yellowstone. *lol* Yay for vacations. Man, with all the posting I’ve been doing lately, I won’t have to post all freaking week!! I’m soooo bored. It’s hot, and I don’t really want to sit here and watch a movie. I actually want to clean, but I can’t seem to get my butt out of the chair. I need to take a load of laundry downstairs so I can at least have some clothes to wear this week. My outfit for tomorrow is already clean, and I can probably make up another outfit or two w/ the stuff I have available in the closet, but … that only gets me through Wednesday. I have to get through Thursday & Friday too. I need to buy shorts. I don’t have any that are fit to be worn outside of the apartment, really. I’d also like to get a pair or two of denim crops, so I can wear them on Fridays and not DIE like I would in regular jeans. Off to accomplish something other than knitting.
