icon1 Manda | icon2 To-Do Lists | icon4 07 28th, 2006| icon32 Comments »

It’s the weekend, which means a to do list. It’s a Joe Weekend, though, and that means most of what I want to get done I have to get done in the morning or tonight when I go home.

- Clean Kitchen (I want to sweep and mop the floors, as well as get teh clean dishes out of the dishwasher and put away)
- Do Laundry (I have a load in the washer from this morning to put in the dryer, and I need to fold the load of laundry I need to take out of the dryer)
- Clean off dining table so we can eat there, if we end up eating at home. lol
- Upload pictures
- Knit!! :)

I desperately want to go to the yarn store sales this weekend. It’s so unfair that I’m kinda broke & don’t really need anymore yarn. ;)

More specifically, I hate MySpace. The one damn time I want to get into it, and I can’t. That’s always the way it works.

Anyway.. It’s official. My sister and I are going to Beaumont in 2 weeks (less than, now! *squee*) to see my boy, Damian. :) My sister got the OK from Mom (just didn’t want her freaking out about Megan going to like, the other end of the STATE or something. lol) and we got a hotel room to crash in, and I should be getting my tickets any day now. I’m SO FREAKING EXCITED I can’t even STAND!! it. Seriously. It’s been ages since I’ve seen a show. AGES. And the one I get to go to in two weeks? Is basically (sorta kinda, ok, maybe not really) a Plasma Jack reunion!!!!! :)

I can’t effing wait. I haven’t been this excited about anything since uhm… yeah, I don’t know when. No, I do know when. Since I flew out to get Joe and sorta bring him with me. :D I get Joe next weekend, too, so that’s awesome. A Joe Weekend, then a PJ weekend! ha! :) Then I think I get another Joe weekend. Then it’s Dina’s Send-Off, but we won’t talk about that. I’m hoping that’s ALSO a Joe weekend, but we’ll see. He’s trying to work out some stuff, and if that happens, he probably won’t be coming back here for that weekend. Bleh.

Anyway, I’m not tired yet, so I’m not going to go to sleep. I think I’m going to get in some quality Netflix time, since I was at mom’s longer than I planned today. :)

here’s a lovely quiz. :)

Your EQ is 133

50 or less: Thanks for answering honestly. Now get yourself a shrink, quick!
51-70: When it comes to understanding human emotions, you’d have better luck understanding Chinese.
71-90: You’ve got more emotional intelligence than the average frat boy. Barely.
91-110: You’re average. It’s easy to predict how you’ll react to things. But anyone could have guessed that.
111-130: You usually have it going on emotionally, but roadblocks tend to land you on your butt.
131-150: You are remarkable when it comes to relating with others. Only the biggest losers get under your skin.
150+: Two possibilities - you’ve either out “Dr. Phil-ed” Dr. Phil… or you’re a dirty liar.

I saw this one coming a mile away.

You’re Totally Sarcastic

You sarcastic? Never! You’re as sweet as a baby bunny.
Seriously, though, you have a sharp tongue - and you aren’t afraid to use it.
And if people are too wimpy to deal with your attitutde, then too bad. So sad.

Okay, It’s 7:30(ish) in the morning, and I really need to get dressed sometime this morning (I’m in pjs, pervs) because I really need to be on time to work today (or early.. which is my on-time) because we have to watch some stupid pointless no-use to us presentation. (We found out yesterday that assistants are also included in this presentation-watching thing (because normally we’re not), and now no pregrades or files will be submitted today. /end rant) (Also, how many times can I use sets of parentheses in a single post?) What am I doing instead, however? Reading blogs. :)

I read most of my blogs through Bloglines (love it!), only veering off to the actual blogs when I’m bored beyond comprehension and nobody’s updated anything and I want to check to make sure they really haven’t updated (yes, I’m a nerd. Also, bored), or I remember that they don’t have an RSS feed, or I just want to see how their blog is looking these days.

Today? I was pleased with two posts that I got to read, and they were from the same family of people. :) Awesome how that works, huh? (Oh! Maybe that should’ve been in parentheses.. haha!) The first post by this family that I read was Mr. CactusFish’s post about his Bean’s first birthday, and it’s seriously one of the most touching posts I’ve ever read. Go! Now! Bring Kleenex! :) Chris, you rock, too. :)

Then on the totally other end of the spectrum (and it may not even be the SAME spectrum!), we have Mrs. CactusFish, and her desiccated cricket carcass poetry. I went to the previous post and read some of the poems that were left in the comments, and they are HYSTERICAL. Also, read her villanelle on the same topic. I’m going to have to find out what a villanelle is, because I don’t remember, and it’s bothering me. LOL :)

Okay, now that I’ve spent 20 minutes or so typing this up, I REALLY need to go get dressed and get out of here. :) Have a good day. :D

(Answer: Nine. No, this makes ten.)

You Are: 30% Dog, 70% Cat

You and cats have a lot in common.
You’re both smart and in charge - with a good amount of attitude.
However, you do have a very playful side that occasionally comes out!

You Belong in San Francisco

You crave an eclectic, urban environment. You’re half California, half NYC.
You’re open minded, tolerant, and secretly think you’re the best.
People may dismiss you as a hippie, but you’re also progressive, interesting, and rich!

THat’s what I’m talkin’ about ;)

I ♥ Joe. :)

I love my Joe weekends just as much as I love my Joeless weekends.

I left work kind of early on Friday, but I didn’t really feel bad about it. I didn’t exactly ask permission, but my last conversation w/ Bossman ended with “Have a good weekend.” Having stayed til 6pm the night before, 5:45 the 2 nights before that, and having 2 hrs of OT under my belt, I didn’t feel bad about leaving 45 minutes early. I DID feel bad about leaving Joe at the airport for what amounted to about 2 and a half hours, thanks to my not being able to get off (got notice about him actually being here this weekend on Wed. night) in time to get him and traffic.

My Joe and Me
He’s not very cooperative when it comes to the camera being in his face. This is the best one I took this weekend. Aww. :)

We came home and crashed for a couple of hours, and decided about 10pm that we wanted to eat, so off we went. My only idea as to where to go for dinner was “fooooooooood. I want foooooooooooood. F-O-O-D. FOOD!!” So we went in the direction of Stonebriar Mall. It’s not too far away, but it wasn’t Chili’s, which is what I had for lunch when Teresa and I went that afternoon, and it wasn’t Friday’s which seems to be what we eat when we’ve already had Chili’s. We ended up getting there, and I turned down a street that was kinda dark and scary because I was in a turn lane and decided to go because it looked like it came out at civilization. It didn’t… it was like, a car dealership or something, so we turned around and went back to the main road. Right across the street was Applebee’s, so I made the executive decision to go there.

We had a nice dinner, even though it seemed like they were kinda trying to rush us. We ordered an appetizer, and about 2.45638 minutes after they brought the appetizer out, we had our meal. The hell? You can’t get food that fast when you want it.. lol.

So we ate, then we came home STUFFED. We came home, and I think we pretty much crashed after that. lol. :) I woke up about 7 or 8, and he slept most of the day. About 1:30 or so I went in to see if he was awake, and he woke up, but then I fell asleep. I woke up at 3 or so, and he asked if I wanted to go swimming. I did, but it was too effing hot out yesterday, and I knew even in the pool it would be suffocating, so we opted to get lunch and go to a movie.

He gave me more to go on for lunch (fast food) than he did for dinner the night before, so we went to Jack in the Crack because it was near the theater. We decided on the way TO the theater that rather than scarf lunch down, we’d go to the 5pm instead of 4pm showing of You, Me, and Dupree. So, after lunch I went to get gas, and then we went back to the movies. The movie was pretty funny. Not as bad as some of the reviews I’d read said, but not as good as I was hoping it would, or that it could, be. Still pretty funny and sweet.

After the movie, we came back home. We changed into bathing suits and went swimming. We talked about wedding stuff and future stuff, and I think we’ve finally made some sort of decision. I think. heh. Gah. Anyway, yeah, so then we got out of the pool and walked back to the apartment. We watched Matchpoint and decided again, at 10pm, that we were hungry, so we ordered pizza. We really need to eat better and have a better schedule on the weekends when he’s here. ahah :) Oh well.

It was nice, we ended up going to bed about midnight, and woke up at about 5:45 this morning so we could get some breakfast and head to the airport. I dropped him off about 7:30am or so, and I came back home. His flight was a little delayed, which worked in his favor, because the checkpoint lines were pretty long, and he ended up getting stopped for a luggage check. He would’ve made it anyway, but I would’ve been nervous. :) I knitted and watched dvds, and he finally got back to CA. :) I ended up crashing and burning this afternoon, and he’s been sleeping since I don’t know when. I called him, like promised, at 7:30 this evening, but he fell back to sleep a minute later. I tried calling him again at 8, and he did the same thing, so I’m just going to let him sleep. :)

I hope I’m not up all night tonight. *lol* :) I’m going to catch up on podcasts and knit some more.

Have a good night. :)
