… to make you feel groggy, weird and out of sorts and to give you a headache. And now? I probably won’t be able to go back to sleep anytime tonight. *lol* And I still have to figure out dinner. (see below - made a decision!)
I fell asleep around 3:30-4, I think, and I just woke up… thanks to a very disturbing dream that I don’t remember.. just that it was weird. lol.

I tried to go to a yarn store close to downtown Dallas and couldn’t find parking ANYWHERE for it, so I’m probably going to reattempt that tomorrow (apparently they are VERY busy on Saturdays, anyway, so it’s really best to go any other day). I have to get my October Birthday Swap pal’s present. I ended up going to the Woolie Ewe after not being able to get in anywhere down there, and I was so frustrated that I needed to surround myself by yarn (yes, I realize how weird that sounds. no, i don’t care). I did walk out with a ball of yarn for a hat I’ve promised a co-worker (need to get started on that - I’ve promised like, 3-4 plus I’m making some dishcloths for another person, plus that darn blanket I’m probably never going to finish.).

My head hurts now, and I think I’m just going to order pizza.. haven’t had pizza in a good long time.

Well, Joe was here… he’s in CA now, and should be arriving home any minute now, I think.  April started a blog, and I finally got Jenny’s new blog added to my bloglines, and yeah.

I’m tired. So tired. *lol* :)

Today was a crazy, crazy day, and I don’t think I really found my footing all day.  Traffic was horrific, so I ended up going way out of my way to get home, and stopped at McDonald’s for dinner (I’m addicted to the Snack Wrap things), and finally came home.  I have barely knit at all this weekend (did work on the Sock of Doom, but I just found out I’m getting “killed”.. oh well, I’m not going to complain about a new pair of socks. *LOL*). I did get my Lisa Souza yarn, and today I received a little “thank you” from Lisa herself with a spiffy yarn/needles magnet that is currently stuck to my fridge.

I’m hoping tomorrow is a better day. I got about 6-7 files ready in an hour. They’re shoddily put together, but they’re in, damnit. They’re in. And I managed to get 2 in for tomorrow already, too (it was after cut-off time), so that should be a nice start to the day tomorrow.

The Miser show was cool, but I sorta wasn’t all there, either, I guess. *lol* :)  It was a fun time, though. Joe and I kidnapped my sister Saturday afternoon, Jenny made it out, fresh from her trip to Minnesota… Teresa and Alex were there… it was fun. :D Found a new band - Dawn Over Zero, so check them out, too. :)

Now I’m going to go be a bum. :)

xo.

Sep 21

I have a bunch of crap to do the next couple of days… can’t get it done if I keep forgettign what it is I need to do.. ;)

  • Laundry.
  • Dishes.
  • Update blogs
  • Take pictures of knitting progress.
  • Grocery shop
  • happy dance, since Joe’s coming this weekend & he wasn’t supposed to. :D
  • Coordinate schedule for this weekend w/ Megan

For those of you in the DFW area, MISER is playing on Saturday at Rockhouse Live. According to the website (will update later w/ links), they are going on at 11:30. I’m not sure if they’re playing with anyone.   If you’re one of my email-list friends, check your email, because I sent out a notice for anyone who wants to go.   Let me know. If you need a ride, let me know. I currently have room for 1-2 more people (1 will fit comfortably, 2 a bit more uncomfortably). :)

 xo.

well, I’m back.

Where was I, you ask?  Visiting Joe, for once. ;)  His dad’s birthday was back in July, but they didn’t decide until like, a week before his actual bday, that they wanted to throw a party for him, soo… in the interest of getting as many people there as possible, they pushed back the party until this past weekend (it seemed to be the weekend the most people could get together), and Joe was kind enough to hook me up with a flight out there, so I could go too. :)  I won bragging rights for being the one who came the farthest… *lol* and everyone seemed impressed that I literally came out there just for the event (flew out there Sat morning, was there Sunday, flew back this morning), so thanks Joe for getting me bonus points with like, the planet (since that’s about how many people were there)… ;)

I remembered all the people I saw back at his graduation, and met a ton of other people… and I hope there isn’t a quiz later, because I would probably fail miserably. It’s hard to keep track of people when there were 60-70 there, and I only knew about 15-20 from previous visits. ahahha. :) But it was a lot of fun, and his dad had a great time.

Saturday, I showed up, and we put the car in my name… I am now the official owner of my car, so I better stop running into all those people and running all those red lights. ;) hehe just kidding.  We didn’t do much on Saturday.. just that, and he took me around the area he’s in now, and we had dinner, then pretty much crashed.  We woke up Sunday, headed out to Santa Rosa, stopped for breakfast, went to the house and hung out with everyone. After the party, Joe and I went to the movies (Saw the Black Dahlia. it was interesting.), then went to dinner and crashed again.  This morning, we woke up… took me to the airport right away because there was a really bad accident on the hwy we had to take to GET to the airport. Thankfully it happened before where we got on, so we missed the bazillion mile backup. I almost ended up stuck at the airport for an extra couple of hours - they were having seating issues… but I ended up getting on the plane. I was happy because that means I got home at a decent time, but I also ended up not getting the airfare voucher that would’ve been nice. haha :) Oh well. I walked in the door about an hour and a half ago… and I’m about to run out again to do a bit of shopping. I don’t have anything in this place that resembles food, so I’m going to go fix that …then i’m going to come home and watch the next disc of Charmed that showed up in my mailbox while I was away. :)

I hope everyone else had a great weekend. tomorrow, it’s back to normal! :/

[Joke] They’re Finally Together!

This was passed around at wk today…. thought it was kinda funny. *lol* :)

She married and had 13 children. Her husband died.
She married again and had 7 more children. Again, her husband died.
But, she remarried and this time had 5 more children.
Alas, she finally died.
Standing before her coffin, the preacher prayed for her.
He thanked the Lord for this very loving woman and said,
“Lord, they’re finally together.”
One mourner leaned over and quietly asked her friend,
“Do you think he means her first, second or third husband?”
The friend replied, “I think he means her legs.”

Well, today was a good day.   My boss snuck in and snuck back out while I was at lunch, so I made him come up again … haha. He liked his card and his cake and kept talking about how nice it was and all that stuff, so it was pretty cool. He hung out for a minute and told a few funny stories, and he laughed at my card, which was pretty damn funny too…. so it was all good. :)

I love birthdays… :) lol

My poor Joe.. he’s so exhausted. he’s hanging out on the east coast this week for work and by the time he got to the hotel last night, it was 11 their time (about 8 his time), and he woke up really early, so he only got a few hrs sleep…and I guess he worked all day today (like 12 hrs), plus they all took everyone out for dinner.  he managed to listen to my story of the day, but he’s so exhausted.   the only thing i love about when he’s really tired is he gets all sleepy and cuddly, and even when he’s far away, i can still tell that.   i love cuddling with him when he’s all sleepy and stuff. :) man, i miss him. lol

i’ll get to see him this weekend though, so that’ll be fun. :)

i dyed some yarn today!!  i used some burgundy cake-dye that i got at Michael’s, and it turned out hot pink. it’s AWESOME. :) one of the things on my bday wish list is going to be some undyed yarn, so i can dye up some more. maybe i’ll hand paint some stuff… ohh the possibilities. :)

If you want moving commentary about the events that happened 5 years ago, you need to go elsewhere.

While I feel for everyone who had to go through any one of those events, and lost their loved ones directly in the crashes or indirectly through the “War on Terror”, this isn’t going to be about that.

Today, I’m planning on celebrating the lives of people I know and love who were born on this same date, several years before the events that have left a black mark on their special day.

To my former co-worker and my serenading boss, I wish you a very happy birthday. :)

(Also, go see the inauguration of Teresa’s new sewing blog, Sew Happy. She’s turning into the Me of Sewing, except she has more toys to play with in her hobby. Mine is just sticks and string - she gets fabric and machines and stuff. ;)  )

yeah, this sucks.

i’ve had this stupid justin timberlake song stuck in my head since last week when my crazyass boss decided he needed to serenade me with it.  radio has been sucking, so i’ve been station-flipping, and everytime i turn on the radio or change the station this song is playing. *lol* :)  it’s catchy, but i can’t help but think about bossman whenever it’s playing. hahahaha.

i’m off to make some dinner and dye some yarn (yes, you read right. i’m dying yarn. *squee*)
