HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KATYBUG!!
[even though it's officially the 12th. Auntie Manda's a spaz, and didn't post this earlier. *lol*]
—
today was a blast. i woke up and immediately threw laundry in the dryer and waited impatiently for the clothes to dry. after that, i went out an did my shopping. I managed to get presents for my sercret pal, gas for my Sophie (uh, the car), a magazine holder thingy & a gift card for Katy [i couldn't find a toy that seemed perfect enough. they all seemed to "old" or too "young", and i didn't want her to end up with 12 of the same exact thing, and i didn't want to buy her all clothes, so i figure this way, she can get whatever she wants, and they don't have to mail or carry it on an airplane back to Colorado. lol], and the biggest card of the party (seriously. and it was a Strawberry Shortcake card-which was the theme of the party- and was about the size of an 8×10 piece of paper… actually, more like 6×10 .. perfect, much?).
after the party, we all split up for a couple of hours. i went to the mall, flirting with the idea of getting my hair cut at the spiffy hair salon there. it’s too expensive, and I didn’t really know what I wanted done. actually, that’s not even really true. i want them to cut it like I always get it cut when I cut it. *lol* because that’s cute. but i don’t maintain it. but it’s cute. lol since i didn’t do that, i went home and uploaded the pictures, and put them on a cd for dina.
i left about 6:30 to meet everyone at Cheddars at 7, and we waited and waited and waited. our group ended up getting split up for a good portion of the time (company policy against putting more than 2 tables together or something?? whatever). i think we ran a foursome off at one point too. after dinner (i had 2 drinks–a mudslide martini? and a strawberry margarita–but no dessert…how do we go to CHeddar’s and not get the Cookie Monster?!), we all left the restaurant so we could go to Main St., and I had to detour for a bit, but I finally made it out there. So I was fashionably late… so what? I was the first one to Katy’s bday party! I had to make up for it somehow! eheheh I just kind of stood around. Dina tried dancing with me a few times, and I played along once, but really I just had to laugh. I like to dance in the privacy, and I do stress the word privacy, of my own home. i finally bailed about 12:40 or so. John and April were leaving, so I took that as my cue to leave too. I was really tired at the time, and I didn’t want to walk out alone, but now that I’m home, I’m kinda awake. *lol*
The one bad thing about 3 day weekends is it really effs up my sleeping schedule.

Dina: All joking and guilt trips aside, it was soooooo awesome to see you again. I shouldn’t speak for everyone, but I know that we all love you sooooooo much, and we miss you a TON. Which is actually sort of funny, since we see you about the same amount now that we did when you were here [or at least I do, ahah], so really it’s kind of the same (give or take a 1000 miles. eheh). It’s that we KNOW you’re not a few miles up George anymore that makes it harder. We’ll have to get on planning that Spring Break trip.. ;) ROAD TRIP!! muahah.

Tomorrow Today’s schedule includes lots of DVD watching and lots of knitting. I really have a bug up my butt to clean, but now that I’ve said that, it probably won’t happen. Now? I’m off to crash.

I have to say that I love this time of year. Unless I make it myself, this is the only time of the year I can sit here in front of my computer, eating pumpkin pie for breakfast.
I would LOVE to be out running around (need to get Katy’s present, and maybe some clothes for Auntie Manda.. and um, stuff for my secret pal), but I’m waiting for my clothes to dry.
I had a laundry emergency when I got home from walmart yesterday and had to throw my clothes in the wash. THen I had to run out the door to get Teresa so we could see Dina for lunch *squee!* :) Ran into traffic moving 20mph on 75, and of course it decided do to all this in the section where there are no exits. It took me almost an hour to get to her house. Normally it’s 20-30 minutes. Then we ate lunch and I took Teresa home. My sister called, and we went to see Stranger than Fiction (GREAT movie, btw) and grab something for dinner (Taco Bell. haha), went back to the house to eat, and then I came home. Around 11:30. And forgot the laundry needed to be dried. Oops.
It, actually, should be done any minute now. If I pick up my knitting needles, it’ll finish. But then I’ll be pissed because I can’t knit. *lol*
Today will be a very busy day - shopping, Katy’s Party, 3 hrs of “down time” that I think we should turn into girl-talk time, and then dinner and maybe the bar afterwards. I’m exhausted just thinking about it.

In my office, Thursday is known as Friday Eve. It started as a joke, but it sort of stuck. Since we’re actually off on Friday for Dina’s Coming Back to Town Day Veteran’s Day, this makes Wednesday Thursday, and Thursday Friday. By process of elimination (?), this makes today Friday Eve! :D *happy dance*
I’m so in need of an extra day off, so this 3 day weekend couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m going to be hanging out with my friends for the majority of the weekend, but it should be fun. I have to do a little bit of shopping (Katy’s Birthday present. Auntie Manda is a slacker. Actually, I’m just broke. And secret pal shopping, maybe get some Christmas shopping out of the way.) Friday morning and/or afternoon and/or Saturday morning, but other than that and all the festivities, I think I’ll have a nice, relaxing Sunday.
I should make a list for all the crap I need to do! In my new Franklin Covey! That’s sitting at home. With the rest of the thank you cards I need to write. Oops. Also, since I’ve got the new planner w/ the new address book thingy, if you’d like me to have your address, please comment (don’t comment with your address, just let me know you want to be added to my addy book) with a valid email address, and I’ll reply back to you so I can get your address or just email me directly (helloPERIODlovelyAT-SIGNgmailPERIODcom; replace PERIOD & AT-SIGN with their respective symbols). This will also be my Christmas Card list, so if you want a Christmas card this year, let me know. :D Some people (family, friends) will automatically get one, but if you’re a bloggy friend and you’re not sure I still have your address, let me know.

For those of you who don’t stalk Flickr, you can view my birthday pics here: http://flickr.com/photos/hellolovely/sets/72157594350178650/ The “weird” pictures are when Teresa had custody of the camera while we were driving down to Waxahachie.
Stacy’s birthday pics are already up, as well. I haven’t named and done all my little comments on them yet, but you can look at them at least, here: http://flickr.com/photos/hellolovely/sets/72157594363372341/
Anyone else excited about Friday?

Day 4 into this NaBloPoMo thing, and I’m wondering what to talk about. As you can see below, I haven’t finished anything on my to-do list, and it’s already 3-ish pm on Saturday. I take that back, I hung up SOME of the laundry and I’m washing SOME of the dirty laundry. i THOUGHT about going to return the extra pillow cases and getting Stacy’s birthday present.
instead, i went to hobby lobby and bought some knitting notions. my knitting group is having a “sleepover” [that I don't really think is going to end up being a sleep over as it is a late-night knit-out] at the coffee shop we frequent on wednesdays. we’re having a white-elephant notions gift exchange thing, and i decided that i’m going. so i had to get notions. and a veggie tray. while i was at the yarn store, i decided to knit a bag for my notions. so i need to get on that. *lol* i also picked up some needles (thanks, mom and c) for some projects i have already started or am itching to start.
so now i’m going to watch the nip/tuck dvd i have and knit on the bag and hope i finish it in time for the par-tay.
i live such an exciting life.
title is a line from everyday by one of my new favorite bands, Miser. you can check out their myspace page for more info & for show dates, and buy their cd on november 11th!

I cannot tell you how freaking happy I am that today is Friday. It’s the weekend. It’s a Joe-less weekend (as will be all the weekends this month. *cry*), so that means I have crap to do. When I have crap to do, I post a list. Guess what this post is going to be?
- Clean kitchen
- Clean living room
- Wash dirty laundry
- Hang up clean laundry
- Clean the bathroom
- Clean the bedroom
- Break out the broom and the mop (yes, this should fall under “clean”, but I don’t like to sweep or mop, so it gets its own list entry)
- Take back the extra pillowcases I bought to go w/ the sheet set I bought a couple weeks ago
- Organize Yarn Stash; destash anything I think I can live without
- Knit on Joe’s afghan, the Everyday Tweed sweater, mom’s socks, WorkJoe’s hat, and whatever else I decide I can pick up. (Whatever Else ended up being starting a new pattern)
- Watch my Netflix DVDs (Nip/Tuck S1D3, Charmed S5D1, RV)
- Post the NaBloPoMo button on this and the knitblog sidebars.
- Vacuum
- Organize Book Shelf
- Get Stacy a birthday present
- Go to Stacy’s Birthday Dinner (Sunday @ 7pm)
- (try to) Relax. [This is where the Knitting and Netflixing come in]
- Remember to post for NaBloPoMo.

It’s been really slow at work today. I don’t know if it’s just because the end of the month was earlier this week or if it’s just because it’s that slow time. I miss having files. It seems like I always have SOMETHING to do. I don’t get to goof off and play games or read blogs or read books or walk around and talk to everyone else like some people do, and I’m a bit jealous. *lol* I’m hoping this hard work translates into something tangible, though.
I left work about 5:10 today and I was the 2nd to last person there. I realize now that I left my desk a mess, but I don’t care. *lol*:)
Oh well. Off to watch some CSI, then Grey’s Anatomy. I need to get some knit-time in. Or maybe write up my thank you cards.

I signed up for NaBloPoMo earlier today, and I was about to go to bed when I realized I hadn’t yet posted today.
SO… here’s the deal. NaBloPoMo is kind of an off-shoot of NaNoWriMo. I’ve participated in NaNoWriMo a couple of years but never really made it past the first week. This is just blog posting, so I’m hoping I can at least stick to that.
** Edit: Timestamp updated because my blog was not set up for DST. Oops!
