Okay… I don’t usually do “advertising” on my blog, and this isn’t really advertising. Okay, it sort of is advertising, but I have to support my boy, Damian. I’ve just loved him to pieces since we first saw Plasma Jack, and now he’s got his own solo thing going. Megan and I went to see him back in August (too long ago!!) at his cd release party, and I just have to say that the cd is awesome.

Anyway, in support of someone I wish the world to, here’s a spiffy banner. :) Go check him out!

(PS: I have to put this up! I took the damn picture! heheheh)
(PPS: Send him best wishes! He’s getting hitched this weekend!!)

Because I haven’t had anything to post about lately, I’m going to ask you to help me post. :P

I kind of feel like a tool doing this because so is like….. oh…. I don’t know, EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING THE SAME THING??? But I really have got nothing but the desire to open Wordpress and type up this long novel of a post. Problem is, I don’t have anything to post about, and probably won’t until Sunday afternoon when I go to one of the local yarn stores for a yarn-dyeing class.

Leave a comment with either a question for me to answer or some sort of topic or something that you’d like me to post about. I’ll answer those questions/topic requests in the coming days. :)

You Are Not Destined to Rule the World

You are destined for something else…
Like inventing a new type of cupcake.
You just don’t have the stomach for brutality.
But watch out - because many people do!

You Are 0% Homophobic

You’re open minded, tolerant, and accepting.
And you’re not homophobic in the least :-)

Well, I didn’t need a quiz to tell me that!! :)

You Are 20% NYC

At best, you’re a tourist. At worst, you’re a poseur.

You Are a Little Addicted to Gossip

In your view, most gossip is pretty harmless.
And it’s a pretty fun way to pass the time!
You’re willing to pass on some juicy details…
As long as you’re not impacting anyone’s personal life too deeply.

What Your Hands Say About You

You are artistic, intuitive, and inspired. You have good people skills.

Flexible and broad minded, you can fit in to any situation. There’s no telling where your life will take you.

Consistent and reliable, you like to count on structure and routine in your life.

Your emotions tend to be nervous and potent. Your energy - both positive and negative - deeply impacts your life.

Why does the fact that it’s 80 degrees outside today mean it also needs to be 80 degrees INSIDE today?

I’m DYING in here.

What is wrong with this picture?

Yesterday… I went to bed at 2am and woke up about 7am wide awake, like I always only get 5 hrs of sleep. (Over the weekend, I’d go to bed at 2 and wake up at like, 10. lol) I was energized and in a generally good mood all day. I hung out with some of the most awesomest knitterly people I know last night, and I was good to go.

This morning, I think I crashed around 1, woke up at 7:45, and now I’m positively DRAGGING. It wasn’t like I partied hard last night. We sat in a Starbucks and knit on various projects. I didn’t even have coffee (blech), so it’s not like I was wired all night. I just don’t get it. *lol* :)

Back to our regularly scheduled workday…
(Is it Friday yet? :)

Lazy Sunday
icon1 Manda | icon2 A Day in the Life | icon4 02 18th, 2007| icon32 Comments »

Today was a nice, fairly lazy day.
I did leave the apartment for a bit. I went to weigh some things that I’m getting ready to mail off, and my postage scale fell off the desk. It’s just a tiny little thing that I got from my days using stamps.com, but it worked. I lost the cover that goes over the battery though, and when it fell, the battery came out. The battery popped off, taking the part that registers the charge right along with it (was a 9v battery..). I couldn’t put it back together, so off to find a scale. I use it for weighing yarn to keep track of yardage as well as mailing stuff out, so I figured it was a decent investment.

It was nice out, and I planned to go out again. I wanted to take some things to Half-Price books, but I didn’t. I’ll do that tomorrow. If I get the apt clean tonight, I might treat myself with a trip to the Arboretum tomorrow. The weather is supposed to be nice, and I want to take pictures. There’s not really much around here to take pictures of, but we’ll see. I might decide to enjoy another lazy day. :)

Poor doggie..

Someone somewhere on the other side of the complex, or maybe it’s the complex across the street, has had their dog outside all day. The poor thing has been whining–not whimpering, not barking, but practically crying out for help…or at least to be let in–all freaking day. I thought it was just the wind blowing earlier in the day, but the wind isn’t blowing now. I hope they let the dog in soon, for its sake as well as my ears’ sake.

So, my sister and I went out last night to see Music & Lyrics. It’s soooooooooooooooo sososososososososososososo cute that I actually want to own it on DVD when it comes out. *lol* :) I also want to buy the soundtrack, but only if the songs w/ Hugh Grant are actually sung by Hugh Grant on it. lol :) (Just checked iTunes *squee!* it is!) We also went to IHOP, which was soo good. I haven’t had IHOP in forever. lol. :)

I took her home, and normally I do a drive-by dropping off, but I wanted to show my mom the shawl after it blocked out. I told her everyone loved the edging she did *lol* :) Megan gave me a belated Valentine’s gift of a heart w/ Reese’s PB cups in it (yum)! :) Thanks, Megan. :D

I came home, and the apt was burning up so I turned the heater off, but forgot to turn it back on when I went to bed, so I woke up this morning to an apt that was almost 60 degrees. For whatever reason, that’s nice when I’m outside, but inside? Too damn cold. So I turned the heater on and went back to sleep. I woke up on my birthday! (Ok, not my ACTUAL birthday, but the time on the clock was 10:28.) Now I’m reading emails & blogs, watching cooking shows on PBS and will actually get my butt moving about 1pm to run the errands I need to run. :) I love the weekend. :)

More quizzes!! :) Blogthings has had a bunch of new quizzes (I subscribe via bloglines so I get updated whenever they post new ones) lately, so that’s why so many quizzes. :) They’re stupid, but also a great way to waste a minute or two. ;)

Your Boss Is Not Psycho

Even though you might hate your boss at times, your boss is pretty fair and upstanding.
If you’re having trouble with your boss, you may just be having trouble with authority in general.

Good to know that my boss isn’t psycho. :) i did this w/ my “closest” boss in mine, not the boss-boss. :D

You Are 36% Texas

You’re as welcome in Texas as a skunk at a lawn party.

Good to know it isn’t completely sticking. ;) *LOL*

You Are 8% Massachusetts

You Yankees loving homo! You probably think Starbucks coffee tastes better than Dunkin Donuts.

Dude. I hate coffee, and I don’t even know where a Dunkin Donuts is around here. *lol* I know where one USED to be. *lol* :)

You Are 12% California

You are a bogus Californian. Go back to the East Coast.

Dude. I’m more California than I am East Coast. *LOL* :)

Nothing important to post, so here are a few interesting quizzes….

Your Brain is Purple

Of all the brain types, yours is the most idealistic.
You tend to think wild, amazing thoughts. Your dreams and fantasies are intense.
Your thoughts are creative, inventive, and without boundaries.

You tend to spend a lot of time thinking of fictional people and places - or a very different life for yourself.

You Are Pretty Happy

You generally have a happy, fulfilling life.
But things could be a little better, and deep down, you know it.
Maybe you need more supportive friends or a more challenging career.
Something is preventing you from being totally happy. You just need to figure out what it is!

You Are a Mac

You are creative, stylish, and super trendy.
You demand the best - even if it costs an arm and a leg.

HAHA. I forgot to post this the other day, but check this out? I bought some New York brand Texas Toast garlic bread stuff, and I was putting it away when I happened to see the panel w/ the expiration date and stuff on it…

New York Texas Toast
It’s made in Canada!! *lol* :)

I found that amusing. :)

I went to mom’s house on Monday to get her to help me with the crochet edging of a shawl I’d just finished. I suck at crochet. I can do a single chain, and even that’s a bit wonky, but I can chain stitch all day long. I will crochet you the longest chain you’ve ever seen if you want, but I can’t go any further than that. *lol* :) I actually just wanted her to SHOW me how to do it, but she ended up doing the whole crocheted edging so I didn’t screw it up at the end. I did my bind off too tight, so it didn’t block out like it probably could have, but I think it’s pretty. I like it like that, so I don’t think I’m even going to fringe it like the pattern tells you to. Thanks, mom!! :) I need to take some better pictures, but is one just so you can see it.

Charlotte's Web

Joe sent me flowers today and they are very pretty. :) The daisies are wilting though, so I don’t know how long the flowers will last this time around, but they sure are pretty. :D Thank you, baby… I love you. :) I’ll try to remember my camera tomorrow so I can take a picture.. or maybe it’s best that I don’t. lol. But it’s a very pretty arrangement. :)

An interesting meme/quiz/survey type thing. It’s been floating around blogland, and I’m finally giving in. Or maybe I”m repeating myself. I don’t remember. :) Open your itunes or music files or something and hit shuffle. Fill in the blanks w/ the songs that play. Don’t skip songs, just put down the 1st song that comes up for each blank! :)

Opening Credits: Stars (Acoustic) by Miser [Dude. ROck on!!]
Waking Up: Possibilities by Teddy Geiger
Falling In Love: Superhero by Collapsis
Fight Scene: Rooftops and Invitations by Dashboard Confessional
Breaking Up: The Diary of Jane by Breaking Benjamin
Making up: Part of the Queue by Oasis (Doesn’t sound like a very good make up song. LOL)
Life’s Okay: Fumbling Towards Ecstasy by Sarah McLachlan
Mental Breakdown: When the Stars go Blue by Tyler Hilton & Bethany Joie Lenz (lol. shut up. I love OTH, even though I haven’t seen it in like, forever.)
Driving: Don’t Wait by Dashboard Confessional
Flashbacks: Creep by Stone Temple Pilots (HAHA! Awesome! It would’ve sucked if this was a “new” band! *LOL* rock on.)
Happy Dance: No One by Athenaeum (not a very happy-dance song, but it makes me smile. :D)
Regretting: Exit to Exit [Acoustic] by Ryan Cabrera (”You wanted something more than this… fell down for someone else’s kiss..”)
Final Battle: The Future Soon by Jonathan Coulton (LOL! What?!)
Death Scene: Run from Thunder by MG4 (uh, not really.)
Ending Credits: Of All the Gin Joints in the World by Fallout Boy

What’s your soundtrack??

I think that’s all I’ve got right now. :)

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!!!!!!
