Less poundage, more $$ in my savings account, an iPhone. :)

7. What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

March 30 - I got to spend the entire night at the airport because 3 flights in a row were cancelled, and the flight the next morning was way too early to go home and go to sleep and wake up in time, so I had to hang out there.

May 14 - I left TX for Cali!

May 15 - Made it to Cali!

Okay, so I finally have a video game that I am obsessed with. Yes, it’s Guitar Hero. Yes, it’s my bitch. On “Easy Mode” at least. *giggle*

I think I’m on the 5th or 6th section, and so far I’ve beaten Tom Morello & played an encore with him and I kicked Slash’s ass and played an encore with him. It’s so much fun. :) Joe calls me “Best Buy” because he says I look like the guy at Best Buy who’s always playing. lol. There’s just something about the game that turns you into a mindless zombie, but it RULES.

My Christmas was pretty good. My mom gave me a gift certificate to order some clothes, and everything ended up screwed up, so she sent me the code & I ordered my stuff early. It was difficult to find things at the site I ordered from, but I managed to find one or two cute things and order it in every color. lol!! :)

I’m soo tired right now. I can’t wait for this weekend. I’ve been WORKING at work, and I haven’t gotten any knitting time, and I didn’t even get time during my lunch because I was busy standing in line at the bank, depositing my Christmas money! lol

Oh well. I hope everyone had a Happy Merry, and that you have a Happy new Year!! :) Joe and I are going down to San Francisco, I think, and then we’re going to hang out w/ Joe’s BFF. Should be fun. :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Dec 23

So Maroon 5 came out with a B-sides disc, and I downloaded it with iTunes, thanks to some gift card balance that I still had (Thanks, Dina..and uh, someone else. lol). I have to say that it is probably 7 of the best songs that I’ve heard in a long time. :)

Thanks, Dina & TC for getting me excited about Maroon 5 again. I hope you enjoy your copies. ;)

sleep … i needz it

Man, I have NOT been able to sleep for the last few nights. I just keep staying up later and later. It’s annoying, because I would really LIKE to sleep.

Part of the reason I can’t seem to get to sleep is the fact that it’s been cold the last few nights, so I haven’t been able to turn the fan on. I need the fan to sleep. For a while, I could sleep w/ my iPod on, playing a few instrumental tunes or podcasts with hosts who have soothing voices, but even those don’t help now. I go to bed, close my eyes, and the silence is deafening. So what am I doing now? Listening to podcasts and blogging a post that probably doesn’t make any sense at all. *lol*

I feel like I should be doing something productive, like maybe cleaning my corner by the couch, but I don’t want to make too much noise and wake Joe up.

I DID find my battery charger for my big camera yesterday. I think I’m going to dust that thing off and play with it for a bit. I want to get pics of our tree (I took one with the little camera, but haven’t uploaded it yet), and I need to take some pics of some yarn I just got as well as some projects I’m working on. I decided all of the knitting presents that I was going to knit for Christmas will end up turning into birthday or Christmas presents for next year, because I’m just not interested in driving myself nuts to get them finished.

I’ll try to post again tomorrow…err, later today, but if I don’t talk to you before then…

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Dec 21

Here’s something to do with all of those Christmas cards after the holiday is over…. ornaments for next year!

PS: I’ve forgotten how much it RULES to be the receptionist and get gifties just for doing your job. :) hehehe

If I don’t talk to you before then, Merry Christmas!!! We just found out that instead of being open the half-day on Christmas Eve, we’re just going to close for the day. Rock on!! :)

Dec 15

Last night was my work Christmas party. I have to say that it was my first ever company function. lol. When I worked at the grocery stores, we’d have food in the break room or something, but never a big… to-do. When I worked at WAMU, I didn’t go to my first work party because of lack of transportation and the fact that I was not even going to think about getting a ride back from one of my drunk-ass coworkers. heheh. My last year there, I don’t think we even had one.

Anyway… so this was my first big work party, and it was very successful. Lots of people showed up. I think only like, 10 people who RSVP’d didn’t show up, so that’s pretty awesome, I think. I helped with some of it. Envelope stuffing and printing labels and alphabetizing stuff and things like that. It was enough of a help that I was mentioned as part of the thank you’s for helping with the party by my BigBig Boss. Whenever I would introduce Joe to people, though, it was a little embarrassing, but also very ego-boosting. The conversations sort of went like this:

ME: Hey, (insert name)!! This is Joe, my fiance. Joe, this is (so and so), they (do whatever).
COWORKER: Hi! It’s nice to meet you! Thank you for letting us have her 5 days a week!

or…

COWORKER: Ohh, we just LOVE her. She is so amazing and helpful!!
JOE: (Says something back)
ME: (Blushing) Ohh, thank you.

LOL. What the hell do you say to that?? I’m glad that everyone thinks I’m so awesome. I’m in a position now where I actually have things to do sometimes, and during the times that I do not… I sit and knit after trying everything else to look busy. LOL It’s nice that people think I’m such a great employee. :)

One of my co-workers’ husbands apparently LOVES me because he doesn’t have to hear about how horrible my closest coworker’s day was. ahahhah :) Apparently the receptionist before me did not do anything except answer the phone and that was IT. lol :)

It was fun. We didn’t win any prizes, and ONE person one TWO prizes (so not fair!), including the TiVo that everybody wanted!!

Oh well. Joe’s out finishing his Christmas shopping, and I just finished wrapping everything on my end. I’m about to go to the store and get the rest of the stuff I need to make Christmas cookies, and then I’m coming home to bake! :) Should be fun.

Dec 14

I have no time to blog.
Or actually, I suppose I should change that to no DESIRE to blog.

My really great ideas come at work, and I’m scared of getting everything blocked (seriously, I can’t access Flickr or any blogspot sites anymore) because it’s obvious that my company means business, heh, I won’t post at work. By the time I get home, I don’t really want to sit in front of the computer, and we’ve spent our last few weekends running around and traveling. So… that’s why I haven’t been here.

That, and the last couple weeks, when I DO get home, I’ve been knitting on Joe’s long overdue Christmas (2005) present. :) I finished it yesterday (since it’s 12:34 right now, lol) with 5 minutes to spare before the end of the day. I still need to take pictures, but it’s finished, and it’s lovely. But now? I need to go to bed!

Dec 3

If you haven’t noticed, I’m having a bit of Christmas cheer at the moment. :)

If you would like a Christmas card, please leave a comment! I’m trying to send them to people I already have addresses to, but if you want to make sure you’re on the list, let me know. :D

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year …”

create your own personalized map of the USA

The only reason I haven’t counted Utah is because I haven’t actually been TO Utah. I fly over it all the time when we go to Dallas via Denver, but I’ve never stepped foot on its land.

I still need to upload pics from my camera from my trip. I’ve been knitting on Joe’s blanket, which is a huge deal. It’s been on my needles for 2 years, 4 months, and 6 days as of today. I’m currently finished with 8 color changes of 11. It’s getting so close. I did the last color change in less than a week. :D Since I’m actually working on it and so close to finishing it, all knitted Christmas presents are being pushed to the wayside until I finish this blanket, so any knitted Christmas presents will probably be New Year’s presents, or “HAPPY JANUARY or FEBRUARY!” presents, lol. :)
