I love it when my iPod knows exactly what I want to listen to. I’ve neglected the many gigs of music that are on my iPod lately in favor of catching up on all of the podcasts I have let lapse (yes, most of them are about knitting. yes, I’m a dork… but you knew that already!) since I moved to California. I think the most I had to listen to was almost 200. The smaller 5-10 minute ‘casts were great for timing my breaks; the longer 30-45+ minute podcasts were good for lunch breaks or on the weekends when there’s nothing on TV.

Well, I’m caught up now. I listened to the last one this evening, which I actually downloaded today, and now there’s nothing on tv. So… I’m listening to music. I decided to shuffle songs

I haven’t kept a running tab of songs played, but my iPod is giving me lots of Green Day, Matchbox 20, Bowling For Soup and other stuff to listen to. I have a lot of music that is on there that I’ve never listened to, and I’m getting a fair amount of that as well. Edgewater just played.. Oh, in 11 secs I can tell you what’s next… “Hold it Up” by The Rocket Summer. My iPod loves Dallas musicians today. *g* I love it when my iPod and I are on the same wavelength.

Joe’s had a super crappy week at work this week (including the entire weekend last weekend), so send him some no-stress vibes… poor thing. :(

I’m also going to have a new toy to show you sometime by the weekend. I love new toys.

Next song? “Paper Lights” by Ehren Starks.
What’s your iPod (or computer, or other mp3 player, or cd player, or your Pandora or… whatever you listen to music on) playing?

aka The Band Meme

Found via Civil Bitch.

You are about to have your own band’s CD cover. Follow these directions to the letter. It’s fun and requires no thought at all. Go to……

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random - The first article title on the page is the name of your band.

http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3 - The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.

http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/ - The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

Use your graphics program of choice to throw them together, and post the result as a comment in this post. Also, pass it along on your own blog, because it’s more amusing that way.

- - -
Band Name: José Moratón Taeño
Album Title: To Use Ordinary Situations
Album Cover: This photograph

(I like all of it except the band name, so I cheated and chose another one.. the band changed its name to Verdon. I like that better. :) )

i am so bored today. we’ve even done more today than we did last saturday, and i am bored out of my mind. joe’s sick and feeling like crap, so we’re just hanging out. we’ve been watching tv, but there’s seriously nothing on. i’m thisclose to suggesting we pop a netflix in.

joe just asked if i wanted to play nintendo, but i don’t. it’s more fun watching him, and he’s in the home stretch of beating fire emblem: radiant dawn, which is what he wants me to play. i’ve had 2 battles, and i completed them all by myself w/o killing anyone. lol :) i still have one song to beat in guitar hero, too.

i am so boring. i wish i could blog from work, though, because i think of all kinds of stuff to blog about when i’m there, but never remember by the time i get home. if i write them down, i usually end up losing or forgetting the paper or throwing it away… soo, basically, my blog sucks. lol :)

i’ve been knitting like a crazy person, though. it’s only the 12th of January, and I’ve already finished 6 whole projects and half of a sock project. i also started a pair of socks for dina because she commented on one of my yarn pics that she liked the colors, so i’m working on those now. see? boring.

back to listening to my ipod and knitting, i guess.

how is everyone else’s year starting?

Some of this sounds right, but some of it doesn’t.

What Amanda Means

You are usually the best at everything … you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic “Type A” personality.

You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated.
You master any and all skills easily. You don’t have to work hard for what you want.
You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you’ll knock down anyone who gets in your way!

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.
You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.
You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You are balanced, orderly, and organized. You like your ducks in a row.
You are powerful and competent, especially in the workplace.
People can see you as stubborn and headstrong. You definitely have a dominant personality.

Okay, one thing that is a bit of a change around here is the weather. The weather here, for the most part, rocks pretty hard. It’s not too cold or too hot; it’s generally just perfect. I still tend to walk around with my hoodie, and we’ve had a few days of waking up to temps in the 30s, but nothing major.

Apparently there’s a major storm system blowing in that will be here wreaking havoc tomorrow, and all I can think is “OH MY GOD. IT’S RAIN!!” It’s not even like, severe thunderstorm-oh-my-god-lightning-will-strike-you-down-and-you’re-going-to-die storms. It’s just RAIN. 2-5″ of RAIN. How is this the end of the world?!?! It is supposed to be pretty windy, but I guess I’ll find out what End of the World Weather is to the Bay Area tomorrow.

Tonight’s rain wasn’t enough to keep the knitters away, and I got to hang out w/ my knitting group tonight.

In other news - Joe isn’t feeling well, so please send him Get Well vibes. :)

In other other news - I’ve written down a few more list items for my 101 in 1001. I just need to update the list, but that probably won’t happen until tomorrow.

Well, after reading on blogs about starting the 101 in 1001 project, I decided on New Year’s Eve that I have to participate in it.

My start date was actually yesterday, and I started by writing down some list items in a blank journal. I originally picked up the journal to write about my trip to CA from TX, but we did it so lightning fast (well, as lightning fast as you can do it in a 16′ Penske truck carrying all of your worldly possessions), that I never got a chance to write any of it.

My list is short so far because we spent yesterday cleaning and hanging out w/ Joe’s best friend, but if you’ll notice list item #1… well, we’ll see how it goes. eheh

Manda's Rapper Pose

LOL. :) I finished knitting a hat, and I was trying it on. Joe said I looked like I was in the hood, so I did a stupid pose, and then I made him take a picture of it.

It makes me giggle. LOL :)

Happy New Year! :)
